Competition Archive Information

20 April 2013 - 10:06 PM

This sub-forum is homed to all the past competitions which we have hosted in the Multimedia & Design board. This includes our current Multimedia & Design Events alongside our now discontinued Signature of the Week & Large Art of the Month competitions.

Within these topics you are able to see the original competition topic & information along with the voting topics in which you can browse through past submissions alongside the polls that users voted on when the competitions were active. We also have a sticky topic here located in the actual Multimedia & Design board which acts as an archive for all past winners & runners-up, known as the Hall Of Fame.

What Program?

19 April 2013 - 01:44 AM

Been a while since this topic has popped up, since the times have changed and there's new things out & about here we are.

What program do you use mostly when doing graphics and/or design work? And why?

I am currently using Adobe Photoshop CS5.

Personally I haven't experimented or looked into a whole lot in terms of graphics programs, when I was younger back in high school we had Adobe Photoshop drilled into us as that was what we mainly dealed with & learnt in basic terms, so it's only a natural thing to stick with it as you get older. Along with it being 'familiar' to me, it's a lot harder going out and learning a new program in most respects, which the shortened time of day I have these days it's only easier to stick with what I know.

Saying this in my time alone using Photoshop I've seen it go from version CS2 to the more recent CS6, within these changes not only have the interface been spruced up but lots & lots of additions have been added, in more recent though the updated and largely significant changes to the program haven't really catered for what I do but it's always refreshing using something new.

Lead/graphite Works

29 March 2013 - 07:58 PM

After seeing a lot more larger works being posted around here I wondered why I hadn't shared some of my stuff. A lot of the stuff I've done over the years is packed away however some more recent works (about 2 years ago) when I was in high school are still hanging around.

I had a strong support for art based around the Surrealist movement, however a lot of them works were paintings so the fact I was using lead/graphite mixed things up a little.

Lighting and image quality is a bit funny but you get the vibe.
