Level 99 Skill and Hard Work

I'm super serial, you guys. B-) Come to think of it - I can't actually remember ever criticising Jagex for releasing this feature? What a wonderful addition to the game it's been!

Citadel Capping Choices

04 December 2014 - 05:33 PM

So, which Skill Plots do you guys prefer capping with? Mine's the Loom right now. The amount of XP it gives, especially if you've got a Festive Aura, Bonus XP (at least from the Quartermaster), and a Clan Avatar running, is insane. Given how expensive Crafting is to train normally - the thing's nothing less than a bloody godsend. The amount of money it's saving means I'll realistically be able to max the skill alone soon enough...!

Shoutouts for the Barbecue and Mine as well, though. They were massive helps in getting Cooking and Mining to 99 beforehand. Come to think of it these 3 are the only ones I've actually ever bothered to use (pretty sure I maxed Woodcutting and Firemaking before Citadels came out). I tried the Furnace a couple of times but it always seemed way too slow and generally inefficient for the XP given. Same with the Obelisk, though I heard thanks to a later update it's halfway decent now?

Anyway - feel free to comment. Even if you're not in ZybezNet. :-P

Weird message keeps flashing at the top-left of my screen

I've got literally no idea what to make of it. Appears for a few seconds in a series of flashes whenever I do anything - like cycling through (both browser and MS applications') windows/tabs, loading into a League of Legends game, and etc. The number changes every time too. Pretty sure it started around downloading LoL's Patch 4.20? Because I've been getting a ton of Bug Splats too. Also I've kept a Firefox window open for the past month now because it contains important links to numerous job vacancies and Postgraduate degree options, which I'm too lazy to store any other way, if that would affect anything? Oh and I always put the laptop into Sleep Mode when done instead of fully shutting it down (only bother doing that once a month).

Model is a Sony Vaio SVT1311M1ES.

w60pengs website for penguin locations

08 November 2014 - 06:35 AM

I don't know if most people are aware of this website, those I've talked to weren't anyway (and appreciated the link!), but yeah as the title says it keeps track of the same penguins as w60pengs and its overflow FCs. From my experience it's more reliably updated than the official RSOF thread if you can't join the channel(s) for whatever reason, or if requests for x penguin aren't getting answered fast enough for your liking (in which case this will give you a better idea of where to go). And it apparently keeps track of the Circus as well which is nice I guess if you plan on doing that afterwards?

Just for the record I've been told that the site is not in any way affiliated with w60pengs itself, but I hope it helps anyway.

Advance Wars By Web

22 October 2014 - 11:30 AM

Advance Wars was one of my favourite games series growing up, with my favourite installment being the last one - Dark Conflict (known as 'Days of Ruin' in America) - which was released way back in 2008. A few months back I found a browser emulator and picked it up again, using it as an opportunity to introduce AW to several real-life mates as well which was nice because we all had a lot of fun pissing around. So I was wondering if there were people around here that have been/still are interested in the franchise - or would want to check it out for the first time? Advance Wars By Web is free to register on and everything. http://awbw.amarriner.com/

Advance Wars is a turn-based strategy game created by Intelligent Systems and distributed by Nintendo. You command an army of land, sea and air units which do battle against your opponent [up to 8 players can face-off on a map]. This version of Advance Wars is a bit of an amalgamation of Advance Wars, Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, and Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Many of the features that are in those three games are implemented here.
Games are played by correspondence on the site so you can set x number of days for players to make a move when it's their turn. AW can look a bit overwhelming at first with all the different units, terrain types, and so on, but you can get the hang of everything within the hour at most. The cartoonish graphics I think make for a really relaxed atmosphere, unless you're the kind of person who can only play super serious RTS titles(!).

My username is Godoc so feel free to throw me any spare game invites if curious. :-)
