SECTION I

Part A - Smithing (coupled with mining)

Smithing is a fairly good way of making money. I personally believe it is not the best way as it takes a lot of time and patience to reach high levels and start getting the real money.

Basic smithing
Basic smithing is quite easy. Just raise your smithing level to 33 and mining level to at least 15. Then mine iron for 2 hours. If you are devoted to the mining, you should get around 320 iron ore per hour. In 2 hours you should have 640 iron ore which will make about 300 iron bars (I'm a little pessimistic...)

Smith all of these bars into iron plate mails.

At the end of all the smithing, you should have 60 iron plate mails. These all sell for 336gp each if there is no armor in the shop already. What you should do is sell to the shop (ie, Horvik the Armourer). Every time you sell to him, he buys the plates for less. DO NOT sell to him if he offers less than 85% of the selling price. In this case, it is 285.6gp.

When he offers to buy for less than 286gp, switch to another server and sell them there. Then switch to another and keep repeating until you have sold them all.

If you have sold them all at an average of around 300gp each, you should make a profit of 60*300gp (18k gp)

This whole process should last about 3 hours from the beginning of mining to the end of the selling to the shops.
____

A variation of this profit earning scheme is to make the iron bars into iron bar certs and sell for 1k each. This method is can be finished quicker than the other method because you don't have to smith all the bars, only smelt them. A disadvantage is that it gives you much less smithing experience.

This method should last a little less than 3 hours but we will say 3 hours to make it simple. 60*1000gp (60k) is the profit you will earn from doing this.

This means this method makes 6k gp per hour
The variation of this method makes 20k gp per hour

Intermediate smithing
Raise your smithing level up to level 48 and mining to 60. Then go and mine 600 coal and 300 iron ore. This should take approximately 3 - 4 hours if you mine the coal at the mining guild.

After you have mined all the coal and iron, go and smith it all into steel bars and then into steel plates (you should get 60)

Now sell them to Horvik like before. He buys them at 1200gp each but as he gets more and more in stock, he offers to buy for less. Remember, do not sell to him if he offers less than 85% (in this case 1020gp). Keep changing servers until all of them have been sold.

This entire process of mining, smithing and selling should last about 5 hours.

If you sold the steel plates at an average of 1100gp each, then you would make a profit of 60*1100gp (66k gp)
____

A variation of this is to make steel bars from the coal and iron but do not make them into steel plates. Instead, make steel bar certs and sell for 3k each.

This variation should last about 5 hours from beginning to end as well but makes more profit while giving less smithing experience.

The first variation makes you a profit of 13.2k per hour
The second variation makes you a profit of 36k per hour

Advanced smithing
Same sort of principle as before. Get to level 68 smithing and 55 mining. Then go and mine 100 mithril ore and 400 coal and smelt them into bars. You should get 100 mithril bars.

Use the bars to make 20 mithril plates.

As before, sell them to Horvik. You should be getting 3120gp for every mithril plate you sell him when he has no stock. Do not let his buying price drop below 85% of the selling price (in this case 2652gp). If he offers less than 2652gp, change worlds and sell to him again.

Assume that the average selling price is 2800gp.

This whole process from starting the mining to selling all your mithril plates should take about 3 hours.
____

A variation of this is to make the bars into mithril bar certs and sell for 5k each. This gives you much less smithing experience but gives you more money.

The first variation gives 18.7k per hour
The second variation gives 33.3k per hour

Part B - Mining

Mining makes more money than smithing at the lower levels but falls behind smithing at very high levels (levels 80+)

Basic mining
Basic mining is mining iron and making it into certs. Mining iron is at level 15 but getting to that level is not very difficult.

At level 15, go to the Varrock South East mine and mine iron from the hard rocks located there. Mine 29 and then deposit them in the bank as well as resting.

[INSERT PICTURE OF ROUTE HERE]

Mine 250 iron ore and then cert them. 250 iron ore should take an hour. You may be able to get 300 if you are very devoted to the task.

At the end of every hour, cert the 250 - 300 iron ore you have to get between 50 and 60 iron ore certs.

All you have to do now is sell them. Iron ore certs usually go for 500gp each but if you are very lucky, you may find a buyer at a little higher.

The whole process from mining the iron to finishing selling them should last about 1 hour 30 mins.

This method should make you 18.3k gp per hour assuming you make 55 certs and the whole process takes 1.5 hours.

Intermediate mining
Silver mining is a good intermediate money making skill. I recommend your mining level be at least 45 before mining silver as it would take too long to mine it if you cant. Also, a combat level of 43 is HIGHLY recommended so that the level 21 scorpions do not attack you. To make this even more profitable, level 20 smithing is recommended also.

Go to the Al Kharid mines. You should find 2 silver rocks there which is perfect for this method. Mine until you can not mine anymore (should be about 7 - 9, assume 8), deposit in the bank and then rest. After that, repeat. You should get about 8 silver every 7 or 8 minutes (assume 7.5 because it goes 8 times into an hour).

Do this for an hour (you should get an average of 60 silver which makes 12 certs). If your smithing level permits, smelt them into silver bars.

Cert the ores or bars that you made and then sell them. Silver ore certs go for 2k each while silver bar certs generally go for 2.5k each.

The process from mining to to finishing for the ORES should take about 1 hour 20 mins.
The process from mining to to finishing for the BARS should take about 1 hour 30 mins.

The ore method makes 18k gp per hour
The bar method makes 20k gp per hour

Advanced mining
Advanced mining (to me) is mining coal from the mining guild. To get into the guild, you need level 60 mining. Get to level 60 mining and then go into the guild.

Mine coal from the hard rocks in the guild. There are 10 hard rocks in the guild. Assuming you get them all, you should get 10 coal before you get tired and need to rest. Go and rest in the room with the spinning wheel west of the south Falador bank. Then go back and mine another 10 coal. After that, deposit your 20 coal into the bank and rest in that same house.

Keep repeating this for an hour. If you are lucky (ie, the guild is not crowded), you should get a nice 250 coal per hour.

After an hour is up, cert up the coal and sell it for 1k each. No lower.

The entire process from mining to the end of selling should last about 1 hour 15 minutes.

This method makes 40k gp per hour

Expert mining
To do expert mining, you should be level 85 mining. You can be level 84 and drink a dwarven stout but this is not recommended because it can be a big hassle.

At level 85 mining, you should mine rune ore. Good places are in high level wilderness north of the lava maze and the hero's guild (members only). Both contain hard rocks.

As I have never had any experience with rune rocks whatsoever, I will have to take what my friend (level 86 miner) says to be true...

Apparently, you can mine 30 rune ore from the wilderness spot in an hour. This includes resting and banking. As well as evading Player Killers. I will assume this to be true for the hero's guild as well...

What you should do is mine rune ore and sell for 12k each for every 30 you mine.

The whole process from mining to finishing selling should last about 1.5 hours.
____

A variation of this method is to do the following:
  • Mine 100 rune ore
  • Sell 12 of them at 12k each (leaving you with 144k and 88 rune ore)
  • Buy 144 coal certs at 1k each
  • Ask a high leveled smither to smelt and smith the rune ores and coal into rune 2 handers (88 rune ores is enough for 29 rune 2 handers)
  • Sell the 29 rune 2 handers at 65k each
This is only recommended if you have a constant smither...
While he is smithing, you can begin mining again so as not to waste time.

The whole process from mining to finishing selling the rune 2 handers should last about 4 hours.

The first variation makes 266.7k per hour
The second variation makes 471.25k per hour

Part C - Fishing

Fishing is a great way of making money. The skill itelf is easy to level up as well...

Intermediate fishing
Since there is no good way of making money without being a fairly competant fisher, I have left out the basic fishing section.

To make money here, you need level 40 fishing.

Go to Karamja (or Catherby if you are a member) and start fishing lobsters. Only take a lobster cage with you, nothing else. Every 29 raw lobsters you get, deposit them in the bank and rest.

If you are fishing in Catherby and are determined, you can get about 250 raw lobsters every hour. On karamja, you can manage between 150 - 200 if you try hard.

To make this a simpler guide, we will assume that you get 200 raw lobsters every hour.

Every 1000 raw lobsters you get, stop fishing and cert them. If you wait too long, certing will become extremely boring and you will not want to do it. 1000 raw lobsters should make 200 raw lobster certs.

Sell the raw lobster certs on tipit.net.net.net.net for 2k each. I have seen MANY people buy for 2k each. Most people in Draynor Villiage only buy for 1.5k each.

The whole process of fishing to finishing selling the certs should last about 6.5 hours.
____

A variation of this is to swap your raw lobster certs for cooked (many people do this) at Draynor Villiage and sell the cooked lobster certs for 2k each. People on tipit.net.net.net.net don't usually buy cooked lobster certs at 2k each but Player Killers that hang around in Draynor Villiage do.

The whole process of fishing to finishing selling the certs should last about 6.5 hours.

NOTE: For both variations, do not expect to sell your certs quickly. Sometimes, you may have to wait for a whole hour before somebody gives you a decent offer. Do not be afraid to lower your selling price a bit. Selling your lobster certs at a lower price is better than not selling them at all! However, only do this if you have to.

Try to hold out for at least half an hour before lowering the price.

NOTE: I will assume you sell the lobster certs for 2k each. I always manage to do it so, so should you.

Both variations make 61.5k per hour

Advanced fishing - Note: Members only
Advanced fishing is the fishing and selling of sharks. To do this, you will need level 76 fishing and a harpoon.

Go to Catherby and begin harpooning. Since I am not a shark fisher, I do not know how many sharks you can catch in an hour so I will make an educated guess based on what friends tell me and what I think Jagex would think is fair.

I assume:
  • Out of 29 fish, 15 are tuna, 9 are swordfish and 5 are sharks
  • To fish 29 fish, it will take 6 minutes plus 1.5 minutes for banking and resting (total of 7.5 minutes per 'cycle'
Fish for an hour. You should have completed about 8 cycles in this time.

Cert your sharks and swordfish.

You should end up with 8 raw shark certs and 14 raw swordfish certs as well as 120 tuna.

Sell your shark certs at 5k each, your swordfish certs at 1.5k each and your tuna at 100gp each.

You should get 40k for your sharks plus 21k for your swordfish and 12k for your tuna making a total of 73k.

The whole process should last about 1.5 hours from fishing to finishing selling. Having constant buyers reduces this to about 1.25 hours.

This method makes 58.4k gp per hour if you have constant buyers and 48.7k gp per hour if you don't.

NOTE: This method gives less money per hour than intermediate fishing but it gives much more fishing experience...

Part D - Cooking

Cooking is generally not a very good way of making money in my view because you can't make money directly. You have to obtain food first before cooking it.

However, making money by cooking has its advantages, by using similar methods to these, I made several 100k while upping my cooking level to 85 from 67 in only 5 days!

Intermediate cooking
You can't really make money without a decent cooking skill so I will have to again start with the intermediate level.

Get to level 60 cooking. This isnt as hard as it seems. All you have to do is buy 200 raw lobster certs (once you get to level 40 cooking) and cook them. You should be left with about 160 cooked ones (because you burnt a lot).

Trade these cooked lobster certs for raw and start again.

In just a few hours you will be level 60 cooking (I will make it clearer in my cooking guide which will be released pretty soon).

Now for the actual guide:

Buy 100 raw lobster certs at 1.5k each (no higher!) and cook them all. You should end up with about 90 cooked lobster certs (because you burnt a few)

Sell these cooked lobster certs for a higher price than 1.5k because you need to make a profit. It will have to be higher than 1.7k each if you want to make a decent profit. I would recommend selling for 1.8k each in Dranor Villiage.

It may take a little while to get some buyers but stick with 1.8k each! Do not go lower or you will be making a loss...

The whole process from buying the raw lobster certs to selling them should take about an hour.

Using this method, you can make 20k gp per hour

Advanced cooking
For this stage, get to level 77 cooking. It shouldnt really be that hard. It only took me a few days to get from 67 to 77.

Now go and buy 300, thats right, 300 raw lobster certs at 1.5k each. Obviously, you cant buy them all at once or the seller will charge 2k each...

If you can't buy 300 because you don't have enough money, then buy as many as you can.

However, in this guide, I will assume that you buy 300 for 450k.

Now all you have to do is cook them. You shouldn't burn any lobsters so you should have 300 cooked lobster certs afterwards.

Now, because this is a large amount, you can sell for 2k each! However, it may take anywhere from 5 - 50 minutes to sell them all off at 2k each. Don't give up! Stick with 2k each. If possible, get the buyer to buy all of them at once...

If you sold all 300 at 2k each, you should get 600k income which equals 150k profit!

The whole process from buying the raw lobsters to selling the cooked ones should take about 4 hours!

This method makes 37.5k gp per hour

Part E - Crafting

NOTE: You need level 40 mining for this

Crafting is a pretty good way of making money but only so at fairly high levels (50+). Anything lower doesnt really help much. As a result, I will again have to start with intermediate crafting...

NOTE: Getting a friend to enchant your amulets usually means that you give them the required number of cosmic runes...

Intermediate crafting
For intermediate crafting, you will have to have a crafting level of 50. To make money here is very simple. Just buy 50 rubies at 3k each and 50 cosmic runes at 500gp each.

If you have a friend with high level magic who can enchant them for you, it would help. Since many people do free magic, I will assume that you have a friend that can do it for you.

All you have to do is make the ruby amulets (you will have to mine the gold yourself)

It should take an hour to make them and a furthur 15 minutes for them to be enchanted.

Once they are enchanted, sell them for 5k each giving you an income of 250k and a profit of 75k.

The whole process of buying the gems to selling them them should take 2 hours

This method of crafting makes 37.5k gp per hour

Advanced crafting
For advanced crafting, you will need a crafting level of 70.

Buy 50 diamonds for 8k each and 50 cosmic runes at 1k each.

Mine 50 gold and make 50 diamond amulets.

Get your friend to enchant them for you and then sell off the 50 diamond amulets for 13k each making you 4k profit per diamond amulet.

The whole process from buying the gems to selling the amulets off should last about 2 hours.

This method makes 100k gp per hour

Part F - Fletching

Believe it or not, I think fletching is a fairly good way of making money! Its quick, easy, gives good fletching xp while also giving you a decent profit!

Basic fletching
Well, basic fletching starts at level 1, which is when one can make bronze arrows.

Just gather 250k and go to the arrow shop in Catherby on a nice early morning so not many people are on. Buy all of the bronze arrow heads from there and switch severs. Then buy all the bronze arrow heads from there again.

Keep doing this until you have 10k bronze arrow heads. It wont take as long as you think if you keep your mind to it. You should be able to get an easy 1k bronze arrow heads every half an hour... The bronze arrow heads are also very cheap. Only 2gp each!

Now you need to buy some feathers. Buy 10k of them at 20gp each.

Here comes the hard part; You will now have to go and chop down 1000 trees and make arrow shafts out of them. Then attach all the pieces of the arrow together and you should have 10k bronze arrows!

Now all thats left is to sell them at 50gp each on tipit.net.net.net.net

The entire process from buying the arrow heads to finishing selling the arrows should last about 8 hours...

This method makes 35k gp per hour

Intermediate fletching
Intermediate fletching starts at level 15 fletching which is when one can make bronze and iron arrows.

On a nice early morning, go to the Catherby arrow shop again with 500k and purchase all the bronze and iron arrow heads. Keep going until you get 10k bronze arrow heads and 10k iron arrow heads.

Then buy 20k feathers at 20gp each.

Now you have to go through the tedious process of chopping down trees. 2000 of them to be precise.

Once you have cut them all down, attach all the pieces of the arrow together and you should end up with 10k bronze arrows and 10k iron arrows.

Sell these for 50gp each on tipit.net.net.net.net

The whole process from buying the arrows heads to selling the finished arrows should last about 10 hours

This method therefore makes 51k gp per hour

Advanced fletching
Advanced fletching is quite a bit harder to get to than intermediate fletching...

For this, you will need level 85 fletching to be able to make magic longbows. Level 75 woodcutting also helps but it is not necessary.

Cut down 20 magic logs or buy them at 1k each. Then make them into magic longbows which can be sold for 10k each! However, I wouldn't sell for 10k each because it is difficult to find a buyer. I would personally sell for 6k each.

If you manage to cut down 1 magic log every 1 minute, in 20 minutes you will have 20 magic logs. We will assume that it takes 20 minutes to buy 20 magic logs because not many people can cut them...

It will take another 5 minutes to get 20 bowstrings and attach them to the unstrung Magic Longbow.

Unfortunately, you will then have to sell the magic longbows which may take a bit of time. Lets say it takes 35 minutes. This therefore makes this whole process last 1 hour giving you an income of 120k! This gives you a profit of 120k if you cut down the trees yourself or 100k if you bought the logs at 1k each!

So, this method earns you 120k gp per hour if you cut the wood yourself or,
this method earns you 100k gp per hour if you bought the wood at 1k each

Part G - Herblaw

Herblaw is a fairly good way of making money. Personally, I believe that herblaw is a skill made so that you can improve yourself with the potions and not sell them to other people. However, many people would disagree with me and say it is a skill made for the exact opposite.

Advanced herblaw
I am afraid herblaw is one of those skills that doesnt make a lot of money unless you are a decently high level... I recommend that you be level 60 herblaw for this. You may think level 60 herblaw is easy but if you start to level it up, you will begin to see just how hard it is...

For this, you will need at least 250k.

Buy 100 unidentified herbs at 2.5k each (some low levelled herblawists like to trade unidentified herbs for merentill and guam so keep a look out for these sort of people. They can usually be found in the Taverly Druid Circle)

NOTE: When I say unidentified, I am refering to herbs ranarr and higher

Identify them (you should be able to identify 98% of them. The ones you cant ID can be sold for 6 - 8k each since they are extremely high levelled herbs)

I would guess that out of 100 unidentifed herbs:
  • 35 will be ranarr (sell these at 3.5k each)
  • 30 will be irit (swap these for super attacks or make them yourself)
  • 20 will be kwuarm (swap these for super strength or make them yourself)
  • 13 will be cadantine (swap these for super defense)
  • 2 will still be unidentified (sell these for 7k each)
At the end of all of that, you should be left with this
  • 122.5k from selling the ranarr
  • 14k from selling the unid herbs above cadantine (total 136.5k in cash)
  • 30 super attack potions
  • 20 super strength potions
  • 13 super defense potions
As you may have noticed, you have 13 super sets. Sell these for 17k each. After you have done that, you should have the following left:
  • 122.5k from selling the ranarr
  • 14k from selling the unid herbs above cadantine
  • 221k from selling 13 super sets at 17k each (total 357.5k in cash)
  • 17 super attack potions
  • 7 super strength potions
Now all thats left is to sell the 17 super attack potions at 1.5k each and the 7 super strength potions at 3k each leaving you with:
  • 122.5k from selling the ranarr
  • 14k from selling the unid herbs above cadantine
  • 221k from selling 13 super sets at 17k each
  • 25.5k from selling the 17 super attack potions at 1.5k each
  • 21k from selling the 7 super strength potions at 3k each (total 404k cash)
I am not sure how long this would take so I will estimate (assuming you swapped the herbs for potions, not made them yourself):
  • 20 minutes to buy 100 unidentified herbs
  • 5 minutes to identify them
  • 25 minutes to find somebody to trade potions for them
  • 50 minutes to sell everything you need to
Total: 100 minutes
Income: 404k cash
Profit: 154k cash

This method makes 92.4k gp per hour

Part H - Thieving
Thieving is one of the best ways of making money because it is easy to train it up and it makes money quickly and effectively.

Basic thieving
You must have level 5 thieving for this. I would also STRONGLY recommend that you have at least 1 permanent business partner who buys cakes from you at 100 - 150gp each.

Make sure you have nothing in your inventory. Then head to the cake stall in Ardougne. Position yourself between the wall of the nearest house and the edge of the cake stall. This is the best position because the guards never see you there. Unfortunately, the cake stall owner can still see you. This means you must NOT thieve cakes when he comes in front of you or he will stop you and waste time.

All you have to do now is thieve cakes and bank them every 30 and repeat.

Assuming you are a determined player, you should be able to get 600 cakes in the bank per hour.

Sell these to your cake buyer for 100gp each or sell them on tipit.net.net.net.net for the same price. Obviously, it would be much faster to sell to your cake buyer.

I will assume it takes 1 hour 5 minutes to obtain and sell 600 cakes to your cake buyer or 1 hour 30 minutes to sell them on tipit.net.net.net.net.

This means this method makes 55k gp per hour if you sell to your cake buyer and 40k gp per hour if you sell them on tipit.net.net.net.net.

Intermediate thieving
For intermediate thieving, you must be level 26. I strongly urge you to have a permanent nature rune buyer as this will speed things up.

Head to the nature rune house located in Ardougne and go to the chest. All you have to do now is start stealing nature runes from the chest.

Nature runes respawn every 20 seconds. I will assume that you collect 4/5 of every spawn before somebody else does. This means you should be able to get 144 nature runes per hour.

I would recommend you get at least 1000 nature runes before selling them because people tend to only pay 500gp each if you have a tonne of them.

I will assume that you have a nature rune seller and that it takes 5 minutes to sell him the runes.

On average, this means this method makes 66k gp per hour

Advanced thieving
For this, you should have level 85+ thieving.

All there is to this is to thieve heros (located in Ardougne).

I will assume that you suceed 2 in 3 times and that you get an average loot of 250gp per successful pick. I will also assume that a successful pick takes 2.5 seconds and an unsucessful pick takes 7.5 seconds (because you have to retreat).

This means, on average, you should be getting 72k gp per hour
SECTION 2

Part I - Woodcutting

Woodcutting is (contrary to some peoples impressions) actually a pretty good way of making money albeit not at the lower levels. The only time where it becomes very profitable is after level 75.

Before you continue, I VERY STRONGLY urge you to get a rune hatchet. It may not be too helpful for oak trees but it will prove increasingly more useful at higher leveled trees...

I also strongly recommend you have more than one log buyer (of all types)

Basic woodcutting
For this, you must be at least level 25 woodcutting.

Go to Seers Villiage and position yourself between the two oak trees located south west of the bank.

Collect all the wood from one tree and then collect from the other tree while the first one regenerates.

Assuming you successfully cut 1 in 2 trees and 1 click takes 3 seconds, you should be able to get 1 oak log every 6 seconds on average.

Bank your logs every time you reach 29 and repeat.

If you are very determined, you should be able to get 450 oak logs per hour.

Sell these logs for 25gp each.

Assuming it takes 1 hour 30 minutes to cut and sell all your logs, this method makes 7.5k gp per hour

Intermediate woodcutting
For this, I strongly recommend that you be at least level 55+ although anything over level 40 is acceptable.

In your inventory, have nothing else apart from a rune hatchet (must be rune or it is too slow) and head to Seers Villiage. North West of the bank there, there should be a small group of 3 willow trees. This will be where you chop down wood and since the bank is quite close, banking shouldn't be a problem.

At level 55 woodcut, you should miss 2 in 3 times while at level 40 woodcut you will miss for often - about 4 in 5 times.

I will assume that you are level 55 woodcut and fail only 2 in 3 times.

If one swing takes 3 seconds and you fail to obtain wood 2 in 3 times, it should be 9 seconds on average to get one willow log.

Assuming you get 1 log every 9 seconds:

It should take 261 seconds to get 29 logs and 60 seconds to bank and return.

This means completing one cycle of willow cutting is 361 seconds long. I will assume 360 seconds because that is exactly 6 minutes.

This means you can get 290 willow logs per hour.

Cert these logs up at the log certer in North Ardougne and sell them for 450gp each.

This will make you an income of 26.1k gp

Assuming the certing process takes 10 minutes and the selling process takes 20 minutes, you should make 26.1k gp in 1 hour 30 minutes.

This means, this method makes a grand total of 17.4k gp per hour

Advanced woodcutting
For this, you should definitely have level 70+ woodcut. Obviously the higher the better - I recommend you have level 77 woodcut before you continue... You should also definitely have a rune hatchet.

In your inventory, make sure you have nothing apart from a rune hatchet and head over to Seers Villiage. There should be 3 maple trees scattered around the bank - find them and memorize their postions.

Part A - Runes
This is the method I always use to make money. It is fast, effective and requires very little skill. All it really requires is patience.

I would recommend you have at least 50000gp before continuing since any less would mean it would take ages to get a decent profit. I would also STRONGLY URGE you to have a constant business partner who always buys runes from you at a good price. If you don't have one, get one, otherwise it will take literally hours to sell your runes. I know from personal experience!

Head to the Varrock Rune shop and buy EVERY single mind, air and fire rune you see. When you have bought all there is to buy, switch servers and buy some more. Remember, the best time to do this is between 8am - 1am GMT time because this is the time when there is the least people playing.

If you are very determined and quick, you should be able to get 2500 - 3000 of each type of rune per hour meaning you should have between 7500 and 9000 runes altogether.

All you have to do now is sell them. I would aim to sell them for 45 - 50gp each. If you sell them for 45gp each, you could get an income of 405k! Meaning a profit of 355k!

For this, I will assume that you sell them at 47.5gp each (since it is the mean of 45 and 50). This will mean a profit of 377.5k!

So, this method makes a massive 377.5k gp per hour!

Part B - Lobster certs
This method is much slower than the one mentioned above and doesn't bring in as much profit. However, this method is definitely less boring.

Basic
Before you begin, you must have at least 200000gp. Otherwise, it will take ages to get a decent profit.

Head to Draynor Villiage on world 1 and shout out:

@cya@ Buying all lobster certs 1.6k each!! Press 567! (Wait 5 seconds)
@whi@ Buying all lobster certs 1.6k each!! Press 567! (Wait 5 seconds)
@gre@ Buying all lobster certs 1.6k each!! Press 567! (Wait 5 seconds and then repeat from top)

This will attract more buyers because 1.6k each is slightly above the normal selling range and since your always typing in different colours, people will see it easier.

Assuming you have 200k gp and you buy all lobster certs for 1.6k each, you should end up with 125 certs. Sell these at 1.8k each and then buy some more with at 1.6k each.

Assuming it takes 20 minutes to buy 125 lobster certs at 1.6k each and 50 minutes to sell 125 lobster certs at 1.8k each;

You should make 21k gp per hour

Advanced
Before you begin this, you MUST have at least 500000gp, at least 5 constant sellers of lobster certs at 1.6k each and 3 buyers of lobster certs at 1.8k each. People on Zybez usually sell at 1.6k each and people on tipit.net.net.net.net usually buy for 1.8k each (good place to start).

The good thing about this is, you can continue working on making money or skills while other people fish for you. All you would have to do is spend a few minutes once in a while buying from them.

Assuming you have 10 sellers of lobster certs at 1.6k each and altogether they are on for 20 hours in a day (2 hours a day each) fishing you certs. Also assume that they can get 40 lobster certs per hour. This means you will get 800 lobster certs per day. Selling them at 1.8k each to one of your buyers makes you a 100k profit.

So, this method makes you 10k gp per hour

This is not much, but if you make money using the rune scheme while letting your buyers do this for you, you can become the ultimate money maker.

Part C - Herbs
Playing the market via herbs is fairly good money and isn't that boring. Unfortunately, you will need to be a member to do this...

Intermediate
Before you continue, I recommend you have level 40 herblaw or higher.

Collect 100+ guam leaves and 100+ merentill, either by buying them of collecting them from monsters (see Turcano's herblaw guide) and head to the Druid's circle.

Once there, ask around and see if people there will swap their unidentified herbs for your guam/merentill at a ratio of 1:1. This will take an hour or so. Next, ID them all.

Out of 200 herbs, this is what the results should be something like this:
  • 80 tarromin
  • 50 herralander
  • 30 ranaar
  • 20 irit
  • 20 unidentified still
Sell the tarromin at 600gp each, herralander at 800gp each, ranarr at 3k each, irit at 1.5k each and the 20 unidentified herbs 2.5k each.

You should end up with:
  • 80 tarromin = 48k
  • 50 herralander = 40k
  • 30 ranaar = 90k
  • 20 irit = 30k
  • 20 unidentified still = 50k
Total cash: 258k

I will assume it took you 3 hours fighting chaos druids to obtain 100 guam leaves and 100 merentill and a furthur hour to trade them for unidentified herbs. Plus another hour to sell them all.

This makes a grand total of 5 hours altogether.

So, this method makes 51.6k gp per hour

SECTION 4

This section will list the pro's and con's of all the ways of earning money from section 2.

Here is how the rating works:

There is a rating out of 20 for how effectively and quickly a method makes money (called: 'money').
There is a rating out of 10 for how quickly you can sell your products (called: 'ease of selling')
There is a rating out of 10 for how boring/interesting doing this method is (called: 'interest')

For all of these, the higher the score, the better it is.

The total mark is expressed as a percentage.

Runes

Pros
Fast money
Easy to sell runes

Cons
Very boring
How many runes you get depends on the time of day (more people = more people buying)

Verdict
I think this method makes the most money, as a whole, out of all the market playing ways. Unfortunately, you will have to be very determined and live with the fact that all you will be doing for 95% of the day is clicking.

Rating
Money: 19/20
Ease of selling: 8/10
Interest: 3/10
Total: 75%
____

Lobsters

Pros
Quite interesting
Can do other things while doing this method

Cons
Doesn't make much money on its own
Hurts your fingers from a lot of typing

Verdict
This method is probably the most interesting out of the money making methods because it involves the least clicking. Unfortunately, you will have to pay the price; It doesn't make much money. Luckily though, you can work on skills while doing this as well!

Rating
Money: 4/25
Ease of selling: 7/10
Interest: 7/10
Total: 45%
____

Herbs

Pros
Makes a fair amount of money
Isn't too boring
Traders for unidentified herbs are easy to find

Cons
Can be difficult to find people to trade unidentifed herbs for guam and merentill

Verdict
This is method that is half way between. It is neither boring nor interesting and neither makes a lot of money nor makes very little. I recommend this to people who prefer middle way methods.

Rating
Money: 11/20
Ease of selling: 6/10
Interest: 5/10
Total: 55%
