For my 500th post, I decided to make a large suggestion. Since everything was wiped, I'm reposting it. I plan on adding a guild soon, and I forgot to add "Examine" to them all... :-$
EDIT: I don't know if I'll ever get around to doing those things.
EDIT2: Stupid rectangles.
Part 1: Tailoring
Background
The art of making your own clothing was a major part of life in the Middle Ages. I felt that it would just make sense to have a skill to reflect a major part of individuality during those times. The few materials present at that time were wool, linen, and silk. Leather was also common, but not for normal clothing. Fortunately, the starting products for 2 of these are already present in the game, and the 3rd is already in the game as it is. I hope you guys will understand how much of an impact this will have on the game if it was possible to make one’s own clothing, with one’s own designs.

Coloring Clothing
General Information
So… You’ve got the clothes, now it’s time to make them cool! Coloring clothing is simple enough. You can choose to dye any part of clothing separately, and each part takes only 1 “dose” of dye. You can also dye the pieces before they are sewn together. They all come out to a solid color, and can be shaded accordingly. (We’ll get to that later.) The name changes to add “colored” if any dye is used. Coloring anything, including things later on, gives no experience, however.

Members Only!
For members, there is an added treat. You can make your own designs! With the new clothing, there is an option to “Custom Design.” This allows you to put your own twist onto your own clothing. Clicking this brings you to a screen with an outline of the article of clothing you have chosen, but only if you have dyes with you. You can only custom design complete articles of clothing: Pants, Shirts, Dresses, Skirts, and Hats.

As you can see, the top left are the base colors, and the shades are below. Only the shades available to you are shown. Next to the shades are the special tools: Straight line, Curve, Fill, Erase, Shapes, and Zoom. Next to that are the sizes. Default is the “pencil,” which lets you draw anything. It is not shown, but if you click on the tool you are using, it will return to normal. Below all this is the color box, which shows you the amount of dye needed to make your creation. Your character is viewable in the box, and you can turn him or her with the arrows, and the front and back of what you are working on is to the right. Click the smaller one to work on the other side. “Copy” copies. Oh, and the Finish button is in the lower right corner. I’ll let you guess what the bomb does…
Each color you use uses one dye “dose.” It is relatively simple and much like paint. Click an available color, shade it if needed, and draw your design. You don’t use any dyes until you officially stop. When you are finished, you click the “Finish” button and behold your new clothing. You can only have 5 designs of each type of clothing.
If you need to go, but are in the middle of a design, you can close the window and come back later, right where you started. This occurs also if you click out of the box or log out. You can always edit already colored clothing, but each time you need more dye. As for copying, you can only copy your own things of the same type. You can’t take other’s ideas, sorry. You can buy them!
The Quest – Romeo’s Wedding
After you have access to the Champion’s Guild, you can start the Romeo’s Wedding quest. It is not required to start tailoring but is a side quest to do once you are experienced with the art of making clothing.
Start point: Juliet’s House
To start: Speak to Juliet
Quest length: Short
Minimum requirements:
Be a member of the Champions Guild
Level 30 Tailoring
Members only: No
Go to Juliet after gaining access to the Champions Guild.
Juliet: Hello, after escaping that plight I was left in, I believe I’m ready to get back together with Romeo.
Player: Well, you sure are determined… But why do you need me?
Juliet: In case you have forgotten, our parents aren’t the best of friends and don’t like our getting married.
Player:
1. Fine, what do I need to do?
2. I’m not really interested in going against 2 of the biggest families in Varrock.
Plus, if you recall, the last time you tried was an utter failure.
Juliet:
1. Well, go tell Romeo that I’m ready for another go. We’ll set up plans to meet soon.
2. Fine… I was going to let you sing a song at our wedding, too. [End]
Go to Romeo, who now resides west of the clothing shop, of all places. This makes it easier to find him when it’s crowded.
Romeo: Long time naught seeeth, [name].
Player: What’s up with the olde English?
Romeo: My old girlfriend liked it. She said it “fit into the story.” I don’t know what that means.
Player:
1. That reminds me of that bartender…
2. Oh well, I’m here to talk about you meeting Juliet, since you’ve obviously broken ties with her cousin.
3. Neither do I, and you’re freaking me out. [End]
Romeo:
1. Yeah, he always talks about this being an alternate reality. Freaky. [Back]
2. She died. Stupid Cadaver berries. Where should I meet Juliet?
Player:
1. How about your house?
2. How about her house?
Romeo:
1. I don’t have a house. Why do you think I’m always outside? [Back]
2. Sounds good. I’ll meet her there in a bit.
Go back to Juliet’s house, and he’s not there.
Juliet: Did you tell Romeo to meet me here?
Player:
1. Yes, did he already leave?
2. No, he died. [End]
Juliet: Just a few minutes ago, actually. The wedding is planned; I just need to find a dress. Could you make me one?
Player:
1. Sure, I’ll be back with a beautiful dress soon. [End]
2. I wanted to sing!
3. Romeo is quick!
Juliet:
2. I changed my mind. Plus, you don’t even have a singing level. Could you please do it? [Back (1 or 3)]
3. Quite quick indeed. [Back (1 or 2)]
Come back with a dress of any kind, and you will get different responses based on what the dress looks like. She will take the first one you give her, but you will get different things for the quests results because of it.
1. Wool dress
If you give Juliet a dress made entirely out of wool, she will say:
Juliet: Thanks, this will do nicely.
2. Linen Dress
If you give Juliet a dress made with a least 1 part made of linen, she will say:
Juliet: Wow! This is a very nice dress! Thank you.
3. Silk Dress
If you give Juliet a dress made with at least 2 parts made of silk, she will say:
Juliet: Whoa! This dress is amazing! Thank you so much!
Quest Completed!
Rewards
1. 1,000g and 3,000 Tailoring experience
2. 2,000g and 5,000 Tailoring experience
3. 5,000g and 10,000 Tailoring experience
After receiving your criticism or praise, you may leave. The next time you come back to the house after going as far as Falador, you, Juliet, and Romeo will say:
Juliet: Aww, you missed my wedding!
Player: What? When was it?
Juliet: I forgot.
Player: -sigh-
Romeo: Hey man, thanks for hooking me back up with Juliet.
Player: All in a day’s work.
Precautions/Technicalities
As with all things, this could lead to bad images, etc. That is why there will be a new part of the “Report Abuse” section for “Bad Design.”
Also, I understand that making custom clothing would take up space for Jagex, but since you are only allowed to have 5 different designs for each type of clothing, and since members are the only ones allowed to do so, I don’t feel it will be a problem.
Part 2: Specific Item Clothing and More
The New Colors/Dyes/Shades
The Colors
- Red
- Orange
- Yellow
- Green
- Blue
- Purple
- Gray
- Brown
Gray is now the new black.

Gray capes: New item, bought in the Champions Guild instead of blue capes. When used with a normal cape, “Gray Dye” (black and white dye together) will make the cape turn gray.
The Dyes
Capes, boots, and gloves can all be dyed a different shade using these dyes, also:
Black Dye: 1 of any burnt food and 5 Coins
White Dye: 1 bucket of milk and 5 Coins
Aggie will make these for you, just like any other dye. She will now ask how many of a dye you wish to make, and will accept notes for any object. A jug or bucket of water can wash away all dyes on an article of clothing.
Also, you can make dyes now by taking double the amount of ingredients, and instead of paying 5 gold, putting them into a vial filled with water. This water has to come from a fountain, however. That’s how Aggie monopolized over the color market.
Red/Orange/Yellow/Green/Blue/Purple/Black/White Vials of Dye are worth 10g and weigh 1 kilo. The number of doses in included in the name. Black and White Dyes are worth and weigh the same as their colored counterparts.
The Shades
There will be 5 shades of each color that can be accessed by using white or black dyes. Each time a black or white dye is used, the color will go up or down a level in darkness or lightness, depending on the dye, of course. If a color is changed while a cape is in a lighter shade, it maintains the shade it had before. You cannot use white dyes on the lightest shade and vice versa with black. Also, the dyes themselves can be mixed in the same fashion before applying them to the items. Here is an example:

Boots and gloves now have the same colors capes do, along with the shades. This will add uniqueness to Runescape, along with the already selective outfit. Brown can’t be shaded.
(And, of course, the gray capes and dyes can be sold to general stores for the same price as their other colored types and weigh the same amount)
