Hi,

I know that this might not be the right forum for this subject, but people keep telling me that my grandma has alzheimer's and dementia and possibly I think bipolar and or schizophrenia. My grandma is 76 years old and has been accumulating items since the 60's and 70's (alzheimer's). She's been like this for her whole life. When I was working at one of the local country clubs as I mentioned during then she lashed out at me and tried to run me over with her car in the middle of a parking lot in broad daylight with witnesses. One bystander offered to call the police and I tried explaining that my grandma is like this every day. The head chef at the country club said that his wife is a social worker or a psychologist and that my grandma has some symptoms of dementia. Definitely my grandma has some chronic mental condition that has never been properly intervened. I keep complaining to my also bad parents that we need to have her committed to a psychiatric facility or jail (my grandma is one of "those"). My grandma is one of the fighting old people. Plus a form of my grandma lashing out is that she sues everyone (yes, really). She currently has at least 5+ lawsuits right now that most aren't going anywhere. Plus my grandma's house is a pigsty. If you think that my house or most peoples' houses are bad, check out my grandma's. There is a leak from the ceiling that opened back up after some family fixed it up a while ago, plus she's a hoarder (alzheimer's) (not as bad as some people but still getting bad/worse). Plus my parents which I mentioned are bad parents are very under protective. A few months ago I had to call the police on my grandma because it had felt like she had touched me/hit me and they didn't arrest her, it was a close call to her going to jail finally. I've been pushing for a very long time to have my grandma committed into a psychiatric facility or jail but my parents who are ironically dependent on me (I'm 21) wont do anything about it. Plus I've already started to document my parent's lack of intervention and my grandma's misconduct and house situation.

What are you going to do about it?

We have already reduced them to stage 2 of their eventual death. Looking at Poison, stage 1 was when they thought they could compete and tried to fight us. We destroyed them for 4 weekends in a row and they havent tried fighting us since. Now look at Downfall. We have outperformed them in every fight we have had since they opened and now they dont even try to fight us either (they mass snipe instead). Stage 3 (mass leave due to boredom/realization of how ****ty their clan is) coming soon!

Honestly, i don't think your grandma has to go to a jail or psychiatric facility.

With alzheimer's and dementia, generally speaking, it continuously gets worse over time a psychiatric facility would only really be able to diagnose her, which hopefully yall have taken her to an actual specialist or Doctor to diagnose her. Psychiatric facilities are not really the best place to live our your remaining days, locking a bunch of unstable people with people who might be more unstable is rough.

I would suggest looking for an old aged home, its a bit more friends and the nurses ensure that medicine is given out. Your family is not equiped at all to deal with this situation seemingly. If the old aged home is not suited for her then a psychiatric facility or possibly a halfway house might be better suited.

Usually some with general symtoms that you are speaking about has to have around 24 hour care, she should not be living on her own, for multiple reasons.

Reasons for this are things like cooking [she could end up burning down her home], randomly walking out [there has been multiple cases where people have walked out ended up drowning in a river or getting hit by a car because they are confused] etc

She should not have been able to run you over, your family doctor should have suspended her license awhile ago and its really questionable why he/she hasn't as of yet.

I'd advise that you not listen to any of those cooks who try to diagnose your grandma, especially if they are not a certified professional, and more importantly if you are not consulting them.

Dementia by definition means that your grandma does not know reality. This means that they are trying to oppress you and distort your reality. Do yourself a favor and give them a big ol' smile and give them a good thank you since you are not soliciting their invalid diagnosis.

My grandmother suffered from Alzheimer's too. Get a professional geriatric neurologist to diagnose her. They will be able to give you a confirmed diagnosis as to what ails her. And you can take it from there basically.
