Mhm. Maybe I'm being a bit egotistical saying all of that, "I WANT ATTENTION, EVERYONE LOOK AT ME AND ALL THE THINGS I'M DOING HERE AND ESPECIALLY FOR EVERYONE ELSE. REWARD ME.", but there has to be a drive to climb the ladder in any organisation for it to get anywhere as a whole eh? That's why a part of me has always been surprised at Reddit's success. Kudos, though, to all of those who don't need to stand out as a special snowflake to find worth in their online activities. ^_^

“People are continually pointing out to me the wretchedness of white people in order to console me for the wretchedness of blacks. But an itemized account of the American failure does not console me and it should not console anyone else. That hundreds of thousands of white people are living, in effect, no better than the "African Americans" is not a fact to be regarded with complacency. The social and moral bankruptcy suggested by this fact is of the bitterest, most terrifying kind.”

Oh I'm the same, I think that you'll find that they get all the attention that they need when they get 20 upvotes for saying ban Emily though. It's a fair bit more hollow but it gives them what they need I s'pose

I don't think that they are becoming irrelevant. The communities are smaller than they used to be but I think that there is still a place for forums within the community.

Many have said, both on these forums and the official Jagex forums, that it would be better to get a higher jmod presence and that it would help bring up the activity.

Yeah we had Mod Mat K posting around here a while back, focusing on CD, and even participated in a Blogs interview: http://forums.zybez....1062-mod-mat-k/ (shameless plug I know lol). Was great to have that official channel to communicate with the very people who ran the game through, a lot of activity was inspired, but sadly they slowly just faded away...

Indeed even Andrew Gower posted on here in the truly ancient times. I'm sure there are oldies who can tell you all about that. And now that I think about it there are many Hall of Fame suggestions that have been suspiciously integrated into RuneScape too...

I remember way back with Official Rs Boards they moderated them so heavily it was difficult to get any real discussion value before a topic was locked or deleted. Forums will always be around but other social media feeds definitely take some population away. Personally, If I'm looking for quality discussion I will always go to forums, as live streams are usually just filled with massive spam.

Reddit (as much as I'm not a fan) and wiki are/have made fansites pretty much obsolete at this point I think.

Your signature has been removed because it was breaking the rules of this community. It was too big (either too wide or too tall) and/or its file-size was too large. To find out more, please see our Help & Rules Section. Please ensure that you fix your signature according to the rules before putting it up again. Otherwise, you may be banned. If you need any help, feel free to contact me. Thanks, Aragon

I don't think that I would have lasted so long in Runescape or in clans, without Zybez. I have worked my way up here from an -1 user to an administrator. Zybez always reminded me that, RuneScape, is about playing together with friends. The social factor is one of the reasons why many players liked Zybez. Most users here are loyal to Zybez and prefer quality above quantity. I don't think that it is over, there are still a lot of good discussions going on here and on other forums. There seems a huge difference between us and the new generation RuneScape players. They will rather want fast popularity and will spam their way up. Reddit is a good example why that site works for the new generation RuneScape players.
