Old School - also it is probably noticeable those who prefer RS3 probably didn't play RS2 originally and they also joined this forum a lot later.

Returned to the game after a multiple year break in August 2017. Everything was so different. Eoc, pk-clanning death, cosmetics etc... Didn't really like what I came back to and decided to play osrs. Could not bring up the effort to level up from scratch again, so bit by bit I discovered RS3. With the help of some friends and my clan, I can honestly say that, in this period of time, RS3 is a lot more fun (not that I don't miss the pk warring days tho). I play it on legendary mode tho :P

OSRS.
RS3 might take a number of years to catch up to the current; and good luck learning and collaborating with similars' along the way.

OSRS, I hated the combat system EOC had, I prefer the simplistic style that everyone knew runescape as.

C-C-C-C-Combo Breaker!! RS3.
I started in 2009 so that's probably why I prefer the more complex graphics, quests, and gameplay. Of course there's flaws, but I played in a time with lots of changes, and I went with the flow.

Has to be RS3 for me. I can't do OSRS without a close community to keep me invested enough to redo a grind I already did a decade ago. The only reason I would grind out OSRS is for the clanning scene, and there's no clan that has anybody in it that would entice me to join. I joined my first few clans because of the people that were in it, and I just don't have those connections anymore. I can grind out RS3 by myself. The graphics are decent. The combat is far more engaging than OSRS. Grinding techniques are less monotonous. All of my stuff is already on this account.

OSRS for the nostalgia but Rs3 is simply a better game.
