Valentine hearts are appearing all over Gielinor, and are available on the Squeal of Fortune. Collect them up and trade them for a bevy of Valentine’s Day-themed prizes! If that’s not your thing, no need to worry – even if you hate Valentine’s Day, there’s something for you here.

Hearts can be found randomly on monsters, while skilling, and can be won on Squeal of Fortune too. They’re tradeable and will appear in-game and on the Squeal of Fortune from Thursday 14th February 00:00 GMT until Monday 25th February 23:59 GMT. There’s an increased chance to win Valentine hearts on Squeal of Fortune on Valentine’s Day itself, and from Friday 22nd to Monday 25th February inclusive, so be sure to spin then.

On the lovey-dovey, pro-Valentine’s side of things, goodies available in exchange for hearts are:
  • Lovestruck pendant: this applies an XP boost as your train one of your five highest levelled skills.
  • Cupid bow: a ranged weapon, which can be switched between different versions to suit various Ranged levels.
  • Love at First Sight emote.
Occupying the darker side of the spectrum are the anti-Valentine’s, hate-themed prizes:
  • Heartbreak pendant: this gives one of your five lowest levelled skills an XP boost while you train.
  • Rosethorn wand and broken heart: a wand and off-hand orb; also upgradeable as with the Cupid bow.
  • Jealous Rage emote.
What’s more, you can exchange hearts for chocolates, which heal life points and come in 6 delicious flavours, each granting a specific skill a temporary +2 boost! There's even a Valentine's surprise in store for a certain sweet-tooth, too - you are what you eat, after all!

Click on a heart in your inventory and hit ‘Send’ to open the shop and access the full range of Valentine’s and anti-Valentine's rewards.

Valentine hearts will stop appearing for collection after Monday 25th February. However, you’ll be able to trade them for rewards for a month from today: until 23:59 GMT on the 13th of March 2013.

You can purchase spins here, or by clicking ‘Add Spins’ next to the wheel in Squeal of Fortune. Don’t forget that subscribing will bag you two daily spins instead of one!

Well at least we don't have to buy spins to get hearts.

Curious about the wand. Wonder how far are they going to reach in terms of levels?

I see people buying those hearts for 3K each. Didn't know they were tradable...

The Shark Fists went up to level 55 and the Lightning Staff went up to level 60. I would bet this wand goes up to 55 because of the Master Wand at 60.

Paying someone to be my e-Valentine

“People are continually pointing out to me the wretchedness of white people in order to console me for the wretchedness of blacks. But an itemized account of the American failure does not console me and it should not console anyone else. That hundreds of thousands of white people are living, in effect, no better than the "African Americans" is not a fact to be regarded with complacency. The social and moral bankruptcy suggested by this fact is of the bitterest, most terrifying kind.”

The wand, off hand, and bow are level 1-50, and have worse stats than weapons of the same tier. Definitely not worth buying unless you want them just for their looks.

Hope they'll at least look nice :-/

Hopefully I get enough hearts for both of the emotes. Not really interested in other stuff.

Oh just what I needed for Valentines.. Jagex.  It looks like it is time to work on unlocking the emotes as the other rewards do not seem to be worth the expenses.

I wonder how common these hearts will be.

I accept.

Lovestruck pendant: this applies an XP boost as your train one of your five highest levelled skills.

What happens if you have 5, 99's? Does it then go by XP or discount the skills you're 99 in?

Valentine hearts are appearing all over Gielinor, and are available on the Squeal of Fortune.

As of posting, these are selling 2.5K each and they come in bundles of a few hundred, pretty good money if you get them while they're hot!

I want the emotes, and maybe the bow and the wand/orb if they look nice.
Won't be spining for sure if they drop elsewhere haha :D

Upon first impression I was a tad bit scared about this being tradeable. Gladly I found it would only be for a month, but it would've been hilarious if Jagex were to have made the same mistake after all these years (which triggered the thought I'd better collect thousands right away for the future, sickening actually). Nonetheless, I think people better spend today differently if they have a partner, even though I detest Valentine as both a single/taken man there's no fiber in my body that could agree with collecting stupid virtual hearts as a better way to spend your valentine. As for all you single people out there: hang on, it's only 24 hours of the most commercialised, stupid and see-through variant of what love really is.

There's way to enjoy valentines day without falling into the commercialised monster that it is. It doesn't hurt to prepare the supper with your lover and go all cheesy-lovely until bed time. But yes, most people forgot that valentines day concept was to spend time with people you like/love. Pretty much like christmas and all. I honestly couldn't care less about gifts, all I want is having a good time and to be able to see people that I can't during working weeks.

I bought spins, before you downvote me, I wanted to see how RWT this was. (And I got the spins for free for valentines day)
The 80 spins made me 8m.

God damn Jagex. There is no reason this should be tradeable.

☼ This never ever should have been, but that's the way it is ☼
