In the past several months, there has been a rash of attacks where people use images hosted from malicious websites to get other users' IPs without their knowledge. These people then use the information for launching DDOS attacks and other very bad things against that person. We don't like seeing that happen one bit, but there wasn't really anything we could do about it except clean up when they're reported to us.
Today, that changed.
We've created an image host whitelist for the forum. Basically what this means is if you want to post an image, it has to be on an image host that we've approved. The change may be a slight inconvenience to some people initially, but it completely eliminates the ability to use images for bad purposes. We think this change is worth it, and we hope you'll agree.
At the moment, the list of 'approved' image hosts includes [but is not limited to] the following:
zybez.net
imgur
tinypic
imageshack
photobucket
leetscape
deviantart
min.us
tumblr
runescape.com
jagex.com
draynor.net
wikia
runeweb
rsbandb
...
If you think we have missed any, post below and we will consider it.

Glad to see this was finally implemented.
Could I make a personal request to get steamcard.com added, so my signature works again? It's just an underbanner displaying my Steam username / hours played. If not, it's no big deal. I don't mind changing my signature.

If you see a bunch of broken links coming from a specific person with a very low number of total posts, feel free to let us know about them and we'll look the posts over. Your security has always been our greatest mission and if people aren't plucking IPs from images you'll see DDoSers against Clan people drop quickly.

Great news for clans, as IP grabbing will hopefully be eliminated, if not severely hampered by this. As stated if you know of any other reputable images hosts that you would like to have on there (though that list is rather lengthy and covers most image hosts), let us know. If you don't use these hosts now we suggest you start or your images won't work.
