Revenant Hunting for F2p/P2p

1.0 [ Introduction ]
Hi, this guide is mainly about how to reach the Revenants, how to kill them efficiently, and tips on improving safety and speed. I've separated the guide into a F2p and P2p section so you can view either one of them. Revenants are located in the Forinthry Dungeon. Inside here is extremely dangerous as it is PVP-enabled, multicombat, and contains NPCs that might pose as a threat to lower levels. The rewards can be worth the risks to those who get lucky enough.
2.0 [ Revenants ]
Revenants were introduced to replace Pkers when the Wilderness PVP was removed. They are not to be underestimated and have the ability to heal itself as if it were a real pker. In F2p, they are more difficult to kill as there are no special attacks to finish it off. You'll need to either rely on a strong weapon or a 2h sword to do the job. They will always heal and you will have to get lucky with hits to kill it before it heals to near full LP. Fortunately, there are not many pkers or other Rev hunters in F2p worlds. In P2p, you have the advantage of better gear, spec weapons, and rewards at the cost of the dangers with many Rev Pkers lurking.
The main objective of killing these are for the rewards of course. Coins are the most common drops you will receive and that might disappoint many who want to get the real coins off of the rare loots. The drop table is truly huge with items ranging from 5m-40m. However, it's not a consistent money making method but rather a try-your-luck sort of method.

3.0 [ F2p Sub-Intro ]
For those interested in trying out Revenant hunting as a F2per, this is the guide to look at. Firstly, there are no real requirements but the higher your combat stats, the more Revenants you can kill. If you do have low combat stats, you may be limited to killing the really lower leveled Revenants only. And there aren't many. Due to the lack of strong gears to equip yourself with and the dangerous Revenants, you will only be killing 4 specific Revenants to make the most out of a trip.
Hunting them with a group will enable you more kills and makes survival/fighting much easier. However, those who want the loot to themselves, continue reading.
4.0 [ Requirements ]
As I mentioned in the sub-intro, there are no real requirements for hunting them. There are some suggested levels to have in order to make the trip more beneficial for you.
-70+ in all combat skills (Prayer is an exception)
-Unlocked Edgeville Lodestone
-45 Dungeoneering (This is optional for those who want to use Gravite 2h/rapier. Technically need at least 64 Dungeoneering to have gather the needed tokens)
-57 Woodcutting (Allows you to build the Waka Canoe for one of the transportation method)
5.0 [ Tips Before You Begin ]
-Be careful when you have no food remaining. Don't risk it just to kill a Revenant with low LP. Remember that to leave you will have to pass through Hellhounds and Greater Demons. If you're low or out of prayer, this means you have to tank and potential death to those who have low LP remaining and no food.
-Running there takes an estimated two minutes. This is enough time to reach the southern spot if you were to die. Make sure the moment you die, simply run north immediately and head to the spot you died in. I've done it and managed to pick up most of my items just as the pizzas disappeared.
-Also when going to the Forinthry Dungeon, you should rest to 100% run energy the moment you run out of run energy.
-Quick prayers should be set on Protect Item and Protect from Magic. Click it the moment pkers attack you.
-When you teleport out to Lumbridge, re-pray at the altar. Then simply home teleport to Edgeville.
-Use walls to your advantage to either lure or block the Revenants. Or to trap off potential pkers as you make a break for it.
-If one person comes near and is not within your level range, and is not killing Revs, leave that world if you're cautious. It can just be a scout for a clan who will report you to them.
-Keep Private chat on Friends/Off to avoid being followed.
-Don't be a hero. If you see someone attacking someone else who's killing Revs, don't attack that pker. Some people may forget that this is the Wilderness and you will be skulled for the next 20 minutes.
6.0 [ Setup ]

The goal is to maximize magic defense bonuses while maintaining a good offensive bonuses.
Helmet: Coif - Shouldn't be replaced with anything. Extremely cheap in GE and has a good +4 magic defence bonus. Green d'hide coif gives similar bonuses but with an extra 3% absorbtion. However, it's expensive and degrades.
Necklace: Amulet of Power > Amulet of Strength - The offensive and defensive bonuses of the Power amulet outweights that of an extra +4 strength bonus of the Strength amulet.
Body: Green d'hide body(40 defence/ranged) > Studded Body(20 defence/ranged) > Leather Body - For the lower levels, those are the ideal armor.
Legs: Green d'hide chaps(40 defence/ranged) > Studded Chaps(20 defence/ranged) - Same as above. Leather chaps aren't worth it as they give no magic defence bonuses.
Boots: Fancy/Fighting Boots - Only boots to give bonuses. Small melee bonuses so you can go without them if you want. Retrievable in the last room of Stronghold of Security.
Cape: Any Cape - Any colored cape, Team Cape, and Clan Cloaks works as they all have the same bonuses. Team capes are recommended for those in a group.
Weapon: Gravite 2h sword > Gravite Rapier/Longsword > Rune Scimitar+Rune 2h Sword - Gravite would be an ideal weapon since it's the strongest. Rune works fine but bring a 2h sword for the knockout. Applies to lower level weapons as well.
Shield: None - Having a rune kiteshield in your inventory may come in handy if attacked by melee pkers.
Gloves: Rune Gauntlets(Charged) > None - Gives a +2 strength bonus but requires Fist of Guthix tokens to recharge. This is optional to bring.
Ring: Ring of devotion* > Explorer's Ring - Ring of devotion gives +1 to all defensive bonuses. Much preferred over the +1 prayer bonus and 0 defensive bonuses from the Explorer's rings.
*Ring of devotion is obtained by purchasing a fired clay ring from the Grand Exchange. Get multiple of them and head to Lumbridge Church. Speak to Father Aereck and choose the last option about blessing the rings.
Inventory
Sling - Purchasable from GE. Purpose is for luring Revenants away from dangerous ones.
Rune 2h sword - KO weapon
Rune kiteshield - Optional protection from possible melee pkers
Lumbridge Teleport Runes - Just bring a small amount of Law runes and Earth Runes.
Staff of Air - Use this as a replacement for air runes. Also equip when you are attacked by mage pkers. Has a nifty +10 magic defensive bonus which can splash their binds and teleblocks.
1X Stength Potion(4) - Helpful to speed up killing. Bring an extra if you run out a lot.
Rest - Anchovie Pizza - The best healing food for F2p. Heals 90 LP per bite for a total of 180 LP per pizza. Risky if piled by pkers but allows you to stay longer at the Dungeon. Kind of expensive at ~846 gp per pizza so alternatives would be swordfishs and lobsters.
7.0 [ Western Spot ]
There are two spots at the Revenant area that you can pick from. Both have the same risks and same amount of Revenants. They also have the same time to reach the area.
The western spot is shown here:

You'll be entering that northern entrance by taking a canoe to the wilderness. From there, run southwest towards the cave entrance as shown below:

Don't forget to bring your rune hatchet. Build a Waka canoe(57 Woodcutting) as that is the only one that will take you there. Once there, you will be in level 35 Wilderness and cannot teleport or canoe back. Be prepared.
8.0 [ What to Do ]
When you reach the western spot, you will be focused on killing four specific Revenants. They are Revenant Imp, Goblins(there are two), and Icefiend. The Imp will be stationed directly at the entrance to the spot and should always be killed first and whenever it spawns. Only 100 LP so it's an easy kill for most.
You can break down the western spot into the northern part and the southern part. Northern part has only one Revenant Goblin which spawns close to the Revenant Wolf as shown below:

Make sure you lure it away from the northern wall by slinging it. Either finish it off with the sling as it does have low LP or stand behind the wall to bring it closer to you and away from the dangerous Revs. Finish it off with melee.
If the Revenant Wolf does lock onto you, simply run far west and make sure it's out of view on your mini-map. Return back and wait for it to go back behind the north wall.
If the Revenant Wolf is already trapped inside the northern walls, it's not safe to lure it out or continuing to kill the goblin. Simply hop worlds till you find one where it is trapped behind the north wall.

The above image is the southern part of the Western spot. The Revenant Icefiend and other Goblin spawn here. Focus on the Goblin as it's the weaker of the two and the one you'll kill quicker. Alternatively, you can trap it along the circled spot and lure one out while trapping the other inside. It's a bit difficult to do but can save you some food if you try it out.
Don't pass or get too near the line as the Revenant Knight will attack you. It's very damaging and protection prayers won't do too much as it uses magic and ranged. Run west to lose it similar to if a Revenant Werewolf were to have attacked you.
9.0 [ Southern Spot ]
This is a preferred spot for both F2p and P2p. To reach here, simply follow the route shown below starting from Edgeville Bank:

There are also 4 Revenants to kill from. They are Revenant Goblins(two of them), Revenant Imp, and Revenant Pyrefiend. There is a Revenant Dark Beast right in the middle which you will want to avoid. Also a Revenant Cyclopes is nearby too which should be avoided. Don't forget that if they do hit you, simply run south to lose their fixation on you.
Now similar to the western spot, always kill the Imp when it spawns. Here you can break it down to the eastern spot where the Revenant Goblin and Pyrefiend spawn near each other. And the western spot where the other Revenant Goblin spawns quite close to the Cyclopes.
Eastern spot is shown below. This picture shows the exact spawns of the two revenants. Avoid getting near that line since the Dark beast tend to walk near the walls and will attack you.

Here's the western spot.

This one is particularly close to both of the dangerous Revenants so be careful when attacking it. It's best to sling it first and run away from the dangerous revenants.
10.0 [ Rewards ]
The drop table of Revenants is vast, even for F2pers. But of course this means that the chance to get something expensive is even rarer. Most drops you will see are coins but don't let that discourage you to get lucky and receive the better rewards. To see the full list and updated prices for the items you can get, click here.
Drops range from the Corrupted Dragon equipment with the most expensive being 3m. Also the varied artefacts including the much coveted Ancient Statuette worth 5m gp. Remember that Artefacts are sold to Mandtrith in Edgeville bank or Nastroth in Lumbridge Courtyard.
11.0 [ Conclusion ]
Revenant Hunting in F2p are recommended for those looking to take a risk for making money. It's a different approach to the usual slow and difficult money making methods. While largely dependent on luck, the incentive is still there. It's up to you if you want to take in a change of scenery and experience dangers.
Revenants are not to be underestimated at all. Combine them and possible pkers and the risk of death is great. Bring what you can afford to lose.

Member's Section
12.0 [ P2p Sub-Intro ]
Revenant hunting in P2p is much more easier but has a greater risk. You have access to better gear and can kill the Revenants quicker before they heal up. The drop table is even larger with items such as Brawling Gloves and Ancient Warrior's Equipment included. If you're higher level in combat, it's best to kill the dangerous Revanants such as Dark Beast or Cyclopes. If you're lower level in combat, stick with the tactics used in F2p with luring and trapping behind walls.
I've excluded a Requirement section for P2p as there isn't much to speak on. Also excluded the Tips section but you should refer to the F2p section as some of it may apply in P2p.
13.0 [ Setup ]

Helmet: Helm of Neitiznot - Cheap and decent stats.
Necklace: Salve Amulet(E) > Salve Amulet > Amulet of Glory - Enchanted version requires 40 Slayer for the miniquest
Body: Royal d'hide body(40 defence/80 ranged) > Black d'hide body(40 defence/70 ranged) > Other Chromatic d'hide body
Legs: Royal d'hide chaps(40 defence/80 ranged) > Black d'hide chaps(40 defence/70 ranged) > Other Chromatic d'hide chaps
Boots: Dragon Boots - It's really cheap and gives a good defence bonus and offensive bonus.
Cape: Soul Wars Cape > Ardougne Cloak > Skill Cape - Any cape with good defence bonuses or prayer bonuses will suffice.
Weapon: Chaotic Rapier > Chaotic Maul/Longsword > Abyssal Vine Whip > Abyssal Whip - Chaotic weapons are suggested for those who have them. You will protect them in the case of death. Abyssal whips are fine for alternatives.
Shield: Dragon Defender - This gives a nice offensive bonus and is easily replaceable.
Gloves: Forinthry Bracelet(Charged)/Goliath Gloves > Culinaromancer's Gloves 10 - Forinthry bracelet will repel the Revenants for one hour. Use it once and switch to the main offensive gloves. Goliath is replaceable and better than Culinaromancer's Gloves 10 for those who can obtain them.
Ring: Tokkul-Zo - There aren't many cheap yet effective rings. This one is a very useful one for those who have it and also have little charges left in it. Therefore in the case of death, you will lose it but can obtain it without being affected too much by the lost in charges/tokkuls. Remember that it must be charged for it to have any stats.
Aura: Vampyrism > Reverence > Knock-Out - First one is useful to heal up, second to conserve prayer, and third will allow you to finish off the lower level Revenants instantly.
Inventory
Inventory is important to survival as well. Food is really not needed as much if you're a high level with Soul Split. Prayer is the key here.
-Dragon dagger(P++)
-A super set(Super Attack, Super Strength) Amount varies on how long you plan to stay. I used Flasks as that's just me and is completely optional
-Your Gloves - Switch it with Forinthry Bracelet one the repel is in effect.
-Prayer Renewal - Amount varies on how long you plan to stay
-Around 5 prayer potions
-Rest Rocktails/Sharks
OPTIONAL:Summoning creatures will benefit you well here. If you have to right Summmoning level to use some of them, then bring it.
-Yak/Summoning Potion/Winter Storage Scrolls- Probably the most useful since it allows you to stay here for awhile. It can bank all loots you get from the drops. If you were to get Teleblocked, quickly un-equip your armor and bank it immediately. Drink the summoning potion to restore special points and allow you to bank more items and reduce loss.
-Steel titan/Scrolls- Obviously will increase faster kills. Very useful since Revenants do heal a lot.
-Unicorn/Scrolls > Fire/Ice/Moss titans/Scrolls > Bunyips
-Lower B.o.B that can hold extra food.
14.0 [ How to get there ]
You should always start out at Edgeville and prepare here. It's advisable to have a Player-Owned-House with a mounted Glory Amulet and a prayer altar nearby the entrance portal to restore your prayer and bring you back to Edgeville quicker.
Follow the blue line:

Once you enter, head north past Greater Demons and Hellhounds. Stay within the following circle as the place to kill the revenants. Low levels will find the area southeast a good place as Revenant goblins and imps are close to one another. High levels should stick within the middle of that circle and kill Revenant Cyclops, Ork, Demon, Dark Beast and all the other low levelled Revenants nearby.

======================
15.0 [ What to Do ]
The southern spot as shown in the F2p section is where you should fight. Higher levels should have no problem with Revenant Dark Beast if equipped with Chaotic weaponry. Basically stay around it and kill the lower level ones while waiting for it to respawn.

Those who try but cannot efficiently kill the Dark Beast fast enough should remain with the luring and blocking shown in the F2p section. Just kill off the ones that are easy to hit. Remember to use special attacks when the Revenant is near low LP to finish it off before it heals.
======================
16.0 [ What to do if Pkers come? ]
-Simply don't panic if plenty of white dots on your minimap appears. First try and get behind a wall. Right click the rushing players and see their combat levels. Always check the level limits of who can attack you. You don't want to be level 126 and automatically teleport when there's only a clan of level 20 pkers. Ex: If you're level 70, remember that anyone from level 40-100 can attack you. If you do see people of these levels, click on Equipment tab, right click your glory, and teleport to Edgeville. If you have a Salve Amulet equipped, remember to equip your glory first.
-If you are luckily not in combat, log out right there. You can then log back in on an unpopulated world and hope it's empty.
-If unfortunately you are teleblocked, your only option is to spam click food and run. Don't run past Green dragons since you will die from them instead. Instead run the path where you came from and hopefully reach the entrance. From there run away to single combat area.
-Those with Yak should start banking your valuables but don't completely strip yourself of your armor and get even more damaged.
======================
17.0 [ Rewards ]
Why come here with all the danger involved? The rewards of course.
-Brawling Gloves- These gloves will quadruple experience gain in the skill which corresponds with the glove you obtain within the wilderness. They degrade of course and last for a certain amount of uses varying on the skill of the glove. Outside the wilderness they only give 1.5x the normal experience so it's best to use it at the Wilderness.
-Ancient Artifacts- These items are mainly cash drops as they are exchanged with an NPC for money. The NPC, Mandrith, is located at Edgeville Bank. Speak to him with any ancient artifacts and he'll buy them off you. Good ancient artifacts are any kind of statuettes. Most expensive one goes for 5 million gp.
-Ancient Warrior Equipment - These are mainly what you are after. Statius, Vesta, Morrigan, and Zuriel armor and weapons. Some of these items have street prices so don't quickly sell them on the GE or a random player for guide price. The most expensive reward that can be sold for street price is vesta longsword( not the corrupted one) which is ~40m. Statius warhammer is ~20m+. These prices do change so I may not be exact.
18.0 [ Frequently Asked Questions ]
Q: Why am I only getting coins?
A: Sadly this is a frequent drop. The drop tables of each Revenant is huge and I expected Jagex to increase the chance for some of those items with the Feb. 1 update.
Q: Is going here even worth it? I keep getting pked, interrupted, nothing.
A: Well a chance at a 40m item, other 10m+ items, brawling gloves, thrill of risk, change, different Npcs seems to outweigh that reason.
Q: What have you received so far?
A: I only went for 3 trips. First one only a 50k artifact. Second time I brought Jennica's Ring and got Corrupt Zuriel Staff(sold 1m) and a 200k artifact in 40 minutes. Third trip nothing. It's all luck. There's a thread in achievement that shows a gallery with tons of rewards.
Q: Can I go lootshare with a friend? Or a clan?
A: Need confirmation though. I think any item that is sold in GE can be lootshared.
Q:Does Jennica's Ring really double chance of drops?
A:

Q:What does he mean?
A:The chance of receiving a special drop(Glory,Dscim) from a certain Revenant is doubled. Think of a roulette table. The part for this special drop just became double the size, therefore the chance of landing on it increased. It will DECREASE the chance of landing on the brawling gloves, ancient warrior, corrupt dragon, and coins. Works just like a Ring of Wealth. So if you feel that this ring will benefit you in the long run, then use it. If you just want a VLS/SWH quickly, then use another ring.
Q: Is it worth it to fight the Revenant Dragon?
A: Some players might want to immediately target the Rev Dragon. However I'd advise against that for a number of reasons. First, they poison you. People tend to forgot antipoison so it would suck to be poisoned continuously and waste food. Second, they are hard to kill unless you have decent stats/weapons. The high defence, quick healing, and high damages doesn't appeal to me. Third, it wastes time which could be spent killing other Revenants for a better kills per hour. Last, the location of the Rev Dragon is at level 31 wilderness. This will prevent you from using your glory to escape if pkers were to come.
However if you do wish to fight the Rev Dragon, then do so. You will not need anti-dragon shield since it's not required for protection.
Q: Do higher level Revenants tend to drop better loot than the lower levelled ones?
A: Rs Wiki states that this is true yet there is no concrete source which says that. As far as anyone knows, the drops are still rare and finding a definitive drop rate is a bit difficult.
Q: Can I run back if I were to die?
A: If killed by a Revenant, it's possible. You will have about 2 minutes 15 seconds to reach there before the items are gone. If killed by a pker, then no.
