You damn backs.  Always getting to look pretty while us forwards take no credit .  Good luck with half back!  I got stuck there my first few practices...not enjoyable for me to say the least, lol.

I'm not feeling too hot, so I did as much as I could.  Luckily completed the deadlifts through and through

Deadlifts:
4x4x220

2x2x252

13x220

Clean & Jerk
3x6x120

Bench
3x6x160

After that I knew that I couldn't do too much more.  So I gave it all I had and threw in the towel.  Looks like I'll be drinking a lot of OJ for a few days

Good for you, man! Lift light until you feel safe from injury, then jack up the weight

If you're feeling sick, take iron, and drink oj with it because the oj will aid in digestion and prevent upset stomach.  Vitamin c does next to nothing as far as fighting illness.

I don't have an iron supplement, so I just took  a vitamin with iron in it.  I didn't know vitamin C doesn't fight illness.  Learn something new every day I suppose -_-.  But it does help protect against illness, right?

Not to my knowledge.  It just aids in the absorption.  My old roommate was in nursing school and told me that when my gf got sick.

Today was our first [official] day of the season.  I have workouts 2 days/week and practices 3 days/week.  I probably won't update this too much with what I'm doing, but rest assured that I'm getting bigger, faster, and stronger!

I'll try and keep you guys posted with what the season's looking like and anything else that I find may be interesting to everyone

And don't worry, I'll still be surfing through this forum and giving all the advice/support I can.

Let me correct myself.  You need zinc not iron.

Decided to go for a Squat max today.  It was a snow day from school, and practice isn't for a little while.

Got 315x1 after a failed attempt at 325.  Video looks like it's not a PR since it went up semi-smooth, but I tried 320 and didn't make it.
Now if only I could find my USB cable.  This video will be up one day, I promise.

NEW SQUAT MAX IS 315

And I swear that if I hadn't injured my leg, my max would be 340+

I know my knees went over my toes, but I did hit parallel. Excuse the grunts, im a puss.  Maybe my form wasn't as good as I thought...but here it is...

Hey guys, thought I'd update with some of what I did at practice today, since it kicked my ass.

Did 4x heine muellers (440m sprint, so basically 1760 meters/1.1 miles of sprints)
2 mile jog
about 150 burpees total
about 150 sit ups total
and a lot of ball handling work/kicking work

absolutely exhausted

The jog was the easy part, lol.  1 miles of sprints with 1 minute rest in between sets sucks.

That's some serious conditioning. Intervals destroy me, good work!

Sprints in general kill me.  My hammies are still sore.  It's been a while since I've done some real sprinting

Ah, burpies. Good times. Somehow my coach forgot about them the whole cross country season though, which is probably good as he once admitted he only had us do them to tire us out more. Know approximately what time you were doing the 440s in, and how much rest?

the 440's were probably ran around 1:30, with about a minutes rest.  I say about 1:30 because of the turns and such, as you completely change direction 3 times.
