I've seen several people using slash weapons and fighter hats at places like Bandos, or fighter hats with a CLS and crossbow at TDS.
Just wanted to show the numbers about how much better the Warrior Helm is almost everywhere.

Fighter Hat Stats

Attack   Defence
Stab 5 Stab 30
Slash 5 Slash 32
Crush 5 Crush 28
Magic -7 Magic -3
Range -7 Range 28

Warrior Helmet

Attack   Defence
Stab 0 Stab 31
Slash 5 Slash 33
Crush 0 Crush 29
Magic -5 Magic 0
Range -5 Range 30

As you can see, besides stab and crush which can be useful at many places, the Warrior Helm is overall better than the Fighter Hat.

People use it for stab. And a simple comparison of the two would make this tip null and void.

I've also never seen the fighter hat used unless at corp or something else that requires a stabbing weapon...

For crush, you would use a Dwarven Helm. Also, pretty sure this has been posted before.

I know people use it for stab, but people also use it at Bandos, TDS, and Sara all of which the fighter hat isn't nearly as good at.

I'm certain Warrior Helm protects over Firecape, however, Fighter Hat doesn't.

crush - dwarven helm
slash - warrior
stab - fighter

or just use a neitz and take the str and prayer bonus. most ppl are using turmoil or piety anyways so to me the pray/str bonus would be more efficent than +5 to a certain attack

A better tip would be "Contrary to public belief, warrior helm does not give stab bonus"
Might sound stupid but i've found plenty of maxed players who think it does and will throw it on for a dds spec, its only useful for the whip hit afterwards
Didnt know that fighter hat gave -7 range/mage stats instead of like -3 or something

Fighter hat takes longer to get back than fire cape.

It's not so much the melee attack bonuses, but I often see people in PvP using it while hybriding and then swapping things like rings. Seems a bit stupid when just taking off their hat would give them a bigger bonus.

DDS specs are usually a stab attack, which is why alot of people use it while pking for more stab bonus.
Maxed overall mid level acc before xmas 2011
