Okay so the shield got nerfed to 40 defence, which isn't really right because of all the time it takes to obtain - if you support bringing it back come post on my rants topic on RSOF here.


With the release of the castle wars updates today came a new shield and some other fancy stuff.



Well I immediately noticed that the faithful shield has no def req and is the same as a rune kite (notice the profound shields stats are roughly the same as rune kiteshields) except with the addition of a prayer bonus.

And the halos are a little better than a mith full helmet without a def requirement - and also no negative range/magic attack bonuses + slower drain rates for combat prayers.


So if you're willing to get 200 castle wars tickets (100 winning games), you can have a rune kite at 1 def (faithful shield).
And if you're willing to get another 300 you can have your very own version of a mith full helmet - the god halos.

Has the faithful shield restored faith to 1 def? What are your thoughts?

With this update 10 def now has access to a helmet better than rune full helm, the slayer helm, and a shield better than a rune kiteshield, the faithful shield.

EDIT: After 5 days of afking cw -  I have the shield...

I doubt it, I know pk gen is nuthin but lols - but a 1 def pure is still a 1 def pure, you cant have a faithful kite pure because really it's no different than being a ghostly robes pure or a iron boots pure.

Well it'll be great for the clan wars fights pure clans often have- I know I'd have enjoyed the faithful shield for those. Otherwise they're just some cool items which look pretty decent, so I'm glad I had 800 tickets to spend :)

Shame the halos dont reduce drain rates for curses, although I suppose turmoil drains slower than piety anyway?

Oh, he was talking about pking, and warring. I don't think there's anyone that pure melees while doing either of those.
Anyhow, the point of a pure, especially a one defence one, is to maximize offense... and the shield doesn't give any offensive stats >_<

62.5 hours to get one I think? That's 25 mins a game (20 mins in the game 5 mins waiting time) and winning every game. I think anyway =p.
