I have an Moblie Intel ® 4 Series Express Chipset Family graphics card and I have the latest drivers for it aswell.

What seems to be the problem? When I click on DirectX, it just says "Cannot run Runescape on this mode".

Please help!

Intel graphics aren't exactly top-of-the-line.

Can you run the game in normal, OpenGL mode? [If so, why do you care?]

Yes, I can run on normal one. But I heard that it runs smoother on DirectX. I'd change the graphics card, but it's a laptop.

Your Graphic Card cannot handle DirectX.

I also have this problem with my laptop, and tbh im not one but concerned as the graphics arn't any better on Open GL to DirectX on RS. It is more than likely that your Graphics Chipset will not handle the DirectX because of the power the game is demanding. All i can suggest is to update graphics and chipset drivers, and possibly update java, other than that there is nothing you can do, except wait for Jagex to possibly release a new patch or upgrade your hardware.i personally wouldnt be to bothered as there is no difference what so ever. The fact that it runs smoother on DirectX isn't always true either, for some people it may, for some people it may not. Even if you have identical hardware to someone else it probably wont be the same consistency either, there are 1000's of factors that can effect it.

Gah, I hate how difficult it is to figure out which Intel video card you have. 4 Series chipset, I think that corresponds to 4500MHD, which is a DirectX 10 video card.

Are you sure you have the latest drivers?

Check the RS forums. Jagex disabled DX mode for all Intel cards, for compatibility reasons.
