Hey everyone,
im currently working on getting all the non-combat skills on my
soon-to-be-pure up to 70, for a future development on the pure (turning it into a zerker someday).
i currently have 1 smithing on it, but 54 mining.
i was wondering, is there a way that i can either buy and make things, and not
lose anything, or possibly mine my own ores (not a huge amount please..) and make things,
and make a decent amount of money?

i'd rather not mine like, 100,000 coal , and like 200,000 iron just to save 5m or whatever.
if its like, 2k coal and 3k iron or something, thats fine, because i need to get 70 mining anyways.

so, my question to you is, is there a way for me to get 1-70 smithing without losing alot,
or gaining some profit?
and if there is, please include details.
if the best way is mining my own ore, tell me how many ores i have to mine,
and what i need to make, and if i have to make it into something (i.e. steel bars to steel platebodies)
please tell me.

so an example is..
you should mine X of this and X of this,
to make X bar and smith it into X number of X .

i know its confusing, but i cant do the math..
i tried and it just hurt.
thank you very much for your help,
first person with a decent answer gets your choice of free hug
or cookie!

Cannonballs work well I believe, I haven´t done so in a while, but I think you profit.

Mine ores and make Bronze bars, then smith that into items, till you can do Iron, etc. Till 35, then do Cannon balls for the profit, not much but it's still profit. :D Stealing my free hug? Nah! It's mine.

Doing the Knight's sword quest puts you at I think 28 smithing making it pretty easy to get to 30 and make c balls

First do the quest "Knight's Sword" this will give you 12,725 exp (for the iron bars you need for the quest just buy them). This will get you 29 (nearly 30) smithing from level 1. From here I suggest making bronze or iron knives off your own bars to 35, then from here do cannonballs.

You could also try superheating or just normal smelting of Steel, and Cannonballs.

Superheating would be much faster than making cannonballs.
They keep telling me to chill, well maybe I will. Just no time soon, its may 31st and Ive been on it since June.
