Solo is usually faster xp, unless you have a VERY good team.
Buy a novite pickaxe and hatchet, a hammer, a tinderbox, a knife, and a rod with feathers as soon as you can. This allows you to open all the doors without returning to the smuggler.
Don't bother with resources unless you need them to beat the dungeon or you want the xp for the skill (mining, fishing, wc, etc). They don't boost your dungeoneering xp.
Farming potatoes and mushrooms, then combining them with high-level food can be worth it if you think you'll have difficulty beating a boss.
Mains below 50: Spear.
Mains 50-100: Spear, good range body.
Mains 100-120: Spear, good range body, good melee legs.
Mains 120: Longsword, maul, range body, melee legs.
Pures below 50: Battleaxe or rapier.
Pures 50-100: Battleaxe and rapier.
Pures 100-120: Battleaxe, Rapier, shortbow, and arrows.
Pures 120: Battleaxe, rapier, shortbow, arrows, and range chaps.
ALWAYS play on complexity 6. I cannot stress this enough.
Kill every monster below 100, to get the highest "Level Mod" multiplier possible. If you skip the monsters, you could end up with -15%, if you kill all of them, you gain 10%.
Explore every room you can, to increase the "bonus rooms" multiplier.
Play floors 1, 2, 3, etc until you reach your highest floor, then complete that and return to the surface. Quit your party, then go into party options. Click reset, and then start at floor 1 again. This keeps your prestige high, and can provide several times more xp per dungeon than what you would get if you did not do this.
