How did you feel about the bonus xp weekend? Was it worth it? Should it be done again?

I'm f2p, also you need a (I didn't take advantage) option for the 2nd question.

It was a great concept which really made the players (myself included) exciting to play RS.

However I have some remarks.
First, I think it should be announced much sooner. I'll explain with means of an example. If person A is constantly training a skill, let's say Summoning, and is using up charms and resources, and then sees the bonus weekend announced in just two weeks, he'll be a bit disappointed because his amount of charms will be low because he already used them up. Person B, on the other hand, hasn't trained Summoning in a long time and has got a lot of charms for the bonus weekend and is extra happy. So basically the 'lazy' person B will be rewarded more than the hard-working person A. I have nothing against person B type, don't misunderstand me, but Jagex could make both types of players satisfied by announcing it way sooner so that a hard-working type of person who constantly trains his skills gets to save some of his resources for the bonus weekend. That's a little something I'd want to mention.

Secondly, the XP multiplier hasn't been clear enough. First they have a curve with an exact math formula, then they mention something that the multiplier will stay 2.7 for a while and today you see that there is no more curve on the developer's blog... So what to think about it? You need to be able to know exactly what you will reach IMO.
As we all saw, the multiplier degraded with 0.2 per time and wasn't accurate at all. Example: after 1 hour and 2 minutes I had a multiplier of 2.3 and if you put that in the formula, I should only have gotten 2.3 after approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. So next bonus weekend more accurate please, Jagex! Fair and square for everyone; those who prefer to only work the very first hour and those who prefer to train longer, which does make a difference when you don't make the multiplier accurate!

And finally, there should be clearer time conversions made. Because they mention "the whole of Saturday and Sunday" (GMT) and then you see on Friday (GMT) that it has already begun. They shouldn't work with PM and AM too by the way, it's really confusing when talking about midnight.

But it was awesome nevertheless, I enjoyed it and many of other players have too. Should see those 100 Kyatts in Castle Wars bank lol! :P

I'm slaying using the bonus exp weekends.
So far it's good I guess, not happy with all the people who have banged out 96 summoning though lol.

It's gotten me playing again, an ingredient that I thought as a long ways away. So I'm glad Jagex did this, and they should do it again in a month or two.
Okay, so you pronounce my name like this: "Rist'ay thur'teen.' It's not "Rist," "Riste," or "Rist'uh," and if you spell it "Wristle," you will meet a very, very painful death.

Yeah that too, I've been a 116 Combat (P2P) with 89 Summoning. After the weekend I had 90, but now all that hard work (read: Bork) means much less.
Although I need to stay positive; soon I'll reach the Untrimmed Summoning cape which still will be quite special after all. Sadly the bonus weekend make it a bit less special.

This should be like a once or twice per year thing, no more. The game will just be a much of people hoarding resources in their bank, waiting for the weekend, if we have one of these every month or two. It will make the game much too easy. The buyable 99's will become much more common, and the prices in runescape will stay inflated if these Bonus XP events happen too often. It was fun this time, but let's wait a nice LONG while before we do it again.

On another note, I wish I could have pushed myself to get everything I needed for 96 summon :( I will forever regret it, lol.

Also I think you should add to the poll a question asking about how soon people want to see another one of these. I think the higher levels veterans (like me) will want to wait a long time before another XP weekend, but the newer players will want it next weekend. ;/

Working towards 99 Slayer and 99 Farming. Very slowly.

All in all I am rather pleased with the double experience weekend. I feel that it gave players an opportunity to train the expensive and more tedious skills easily and cheaper than it would be with regular experience. It also gave people the chance to train their favorite skills with double experience rewarded.

For me, I trained Summoning raising it from level 52 to level 63. I am also using up the rest of the double experience on Runecrafting using the ZMI altar. I enjoyed the double experience benefit very much and hope that there are more to come in the future. :hi:

I did not make any preparations for this weekend until one day ago. The charms I used to train summoning and the herbs I used to mix potions were already in my bank. Likewise, I had some law tabs saved up from several months ago which I used today.

The reason I did this is because I am fundamentally opposed to the concept of this and any future double xp weekends. I'm not going to repeat the reasons why; they've been argued many times before and have become well-worn phrases. I'm sure Jagex had fun with their little marketing experiment. I'm dreading a decision where upon a similar event is held several times a year.

I'm pleased; I just realized the night before that I could hit 80 summoning instead of 77 like I originally planned so I was pumped. My only concern was that the 2.7 multiplier was only for the first 15 minutes of bonus xp weekend. So I was only able to hit 79 summoning, not 80. I'm still satisfied though. I got 2 agility levels and a slayer level too.

Also I accidentally voted 500k+ xp instead of 1m. Oops. Lol.

Used the first 15 of 2.7 and the next 45 of 2.5 entirely on Summoning getting a total of 1.5m xp which was 88-81 summoning. I hope Jagex never does a cheap gimmick like this again. If they were to do this again they need to leave Summoning out for sure. I mean I know i used my xp on summoning but I saved like 20 hours of charm collecting in one hour, most stats in the game you are saving 7 hours altogether before your xp reaches 1.1x xp while Summoning you can save that time in 30 minutes.

If they ever do this gimmick to lure kids into the game again, leave summoning out.

Hit 10m+/almost have already so I've voted.
I did summoning, going from 88-97 summoning, and am so far just doing slayer for the rest of my time.

It has pro's and con's:

+ I can do the more boring skills faster (mining).
+ Really helps me getting 70 summoning.
+ It felt kinda 'uniting', everyone doing summoning and such :-)

- Prices are going to fluctuate, every time they hold an event like this.
- People with high stats are most likely to feel a bit pitty, since they paid the full price.

I couldn't care less if they held an event like this in the future ... if they will, I'm sure to make use of it. If they wont, no problem, I would've gotten the same lvls later ...

Are you ready kids?!
99 Farming / 99 Fishing / 99 Woodcutting / 99 Cooking
Goals: 90+ slay / 99 Defence / 99 Range

I didn't participate in it nor do I agree with the concept. It's not a matter of 'wah I got it when it was hard' - it's just the direction of the game with this concept being implemented considering how the game has been going strong for almost nine years now and it just feels so out of place for Jagex, whom are so successful to implement something you see on all of those free, low budget MMOs that are mass produced and advertised through Google Ads and such.

note: change how the poll works or add an option for no skill as the poll requires users to vote in every field.

I hope they don't do it again, and if they do it again make it a once in a year thing, i swear i'd quit if this happened every other week.

I didn't make the most of it (gained around 500,000 fishin experience or so) but then again I didn't plan to either. I also don't really want to see it happening either, over the years the game just keeps getting easier and easier -- this is just too far.

It was pretty good I suppose, but they need to make it clearer on how the XP rate drops down. Personally, if they ever do this again, I think Summoning and Herblore shouldn't be able to be trained with it because people were getting 99s in both like crazy and passing up ranks and such. I really did like it for Ivy though, went from 83-86 Woodcutting so far and I'm nearing 87. I only got the initiative because of the weekend, and that's another reason why I think it's good. :-)

Gained about 2.6m xp so far. Will get another 1m or so.
I Like the idea, one of the few "old school" players that do.
