Well alot of the 'clanners' these days were not around 3-4 years ago or even 5-6 like myself... But theres still a big chunk of old pkers and clanners still kicking it nowdays, Here is a topic that isn't about all this new age crashing and complaining/crashing.. Lets remember some of the Good Old Days...

The wild used to be alive was great if only everyone could have experienced clanning like this... My favourite memory was seeing millions of rune piles appearing everywhere from people dying and no crying cause of crashers, because honour used to play a big part :D

Back in Dragonwood, around the time when no one really picked up loot, I remember my friend and I would switch to our pures when we knew DW was going to lose, and loot every rune pile we saw on the ground.

* A clan world that was based on respect. For example, for most major fights the losing team would usually wait at edge and then congratulate the winning team.
* The wilderness basically never being empty. Hop onto any world and you could find a team or clan most of the time.
* Most fights were spontaneous which made things so much more fun. Nowadays stuff is all planned and it gets tedious. Spontaneous battles were the best.
* An atmosphere where new pking styles and methods were still being discovered. It made the clan world more interesting.
* And fights that didn’t last too long. None of this 12 hour returning nonsense. Quick, fun, and free rune lol.

Well I've been around for barely 3 years so I don't consider myself old school, but 2007 brings back some great memories. Time gives gold trimmings to the memories, but if there was a way, I would definitely go back to those days and do it again.

Back in 2007 we were on a ~30 something winning streak in wars with SE and it was quite fun since everyone was so pumped up for all the wars and we knew that there was only one shot at tanking and everything had to go smoothly in order to keep the streak alive. Sadly WG ended our streak with a massive turnout in a full out war and we couldn't compete.

The most fun rivalry I've been apart was probaply SE vs Adelais. It was after our warring streak had ended and PK run in's became more popular. The rivalry was really heated up and both clans did everything within the game to beat each other. Good old hunting each other down in the wilderness and none of this crashing/DDosing nonsense. Would be awesome to arrange a reunion PK run in with the original members!

I was introduced to clanning (although, not exactly the "mainstream" Clan World) late 2005, and, to be completely honest, I essentially made my money off looting. I stuck around those unappreciated clans for ~1.5 years; that's where I went from owning a ~10M bank to a ~60M (even though I was hacked and cleaned latter 2007, losing a 60-70M bank). With the help of EH -- thank you so, so much -- I got back on my feet, though, they held a "fund raiser event" that week, and donated ~10M to me; I will never forget that. I was able to make good and eventually succeed 82 prayer later on, blah-blah, back on topic...

I was in my first clan for ~10 months; even though it was a pretty inept clan, we had fun. It's not like most clans today that just have planned fights, after planned fights, after planned fights... plus, drama; that gets annoying, as well as boring and it also makes the Clan World routinely unexciting. At times, I do yearn for the ol' days... I wish PKing was just PKing again, with a few run-ins here and there, without the omnipotent premeditated system of today... but, that's just nostalgia, anyway. Good times were good times; time to live in the now, though, and not be so "miserable" about it. It is what it is.
