1.0 [ Introduction ]

Coming in at the 4th highest attackable NPC in RuneScape, General Graardor is a formidable foe. Many dare not to face the level 624 Ourg alone,
instead preferring to take him on in teams of 3-6+ members. This method makes it easier, but you get a smaller split of the rewards.
This guide will hopefully give enough information to consider taking on the General by yourself and let you reap the high rewards from killing the
last of the Ourgs.

2.0 [ Gear And Requirements ]
While the Requirements are extremely low (70 strength and a hammer), you will not be able to pull off a successful solo attempt without decent stats.Recommendations:
-80+ Attack & Strength (if Meleeing)
-70+ Defence (Barrows/Bandos is a MUST!)
-85+ Hp (Graardor maxes 350 with Ranged, and his minions 200. Always stay above 600 lp.)
-85+ Ranged (if Ranging)
-70+ Magic
-60+ Prayer
-Access to Trollheim teleport*
-Decent equipment
These stats should hopefully get you at least one kill, I do not recommend trying to solo with stats below these.
You do not have to have 70+ magic, but it is advised, as the majority of the damage you take will be from Sargent Steelwill, the Magic
bodyguard.
*Don't bother trying to solo Graardor without being able to teleport to Trollheim.

~~~Inventory~~~
For those without overloads:
- 1x 1-click teleport
1x Hammer
3-4x Super Prayer / Prayer Potion(4)
1x Extreme Attack / Super attack(4)
1x Extreme Strength / Super Strength(4)
1x Extreme Defence / Super Defence(4)
5x Law Rune
5x Fire Rune
3x Air
Fill the rest of your inventory with Sharks or better food.
I have been using Rocktails lately. They work wonders here.
You can also swap the Super def pot for a Saradomin Brew, but remember to take a Super Restore as well.
- 1x 1-click teleport
1x Hammer
3-4x Overload (4)
12-14x Saradomin brew (4)
7-8x Super restore (4)
1-3x Super prayer (4) (at users discretion)
2x Fire Rune
2x Law Rune
Summon the highest level Beast of burden you can (Terrorbird, War Tortoise or Pack Yak recommended), and fill its inventory with Sharks or better food for non overloaders, Saradomin brews for overloaders.
Spec Weapon: Dragon Claws > Saradomin Godsword > Zamorak Godsword > Bandos Godsword > Armadyl Godsword > Dragon Halberd > Dragon Dagger (p++)
A Zamorak Godsword can freeze Graardor for up to 25 seconds. This will give you time to take a couple of steps away, heal up and attack again.
If you do not wear any Bandos Items, I strongly suggest using the Bandos Pool at Ooglog
Personally, I take a zamorak arrow for kill count, and use claws to kill goblins/hobgoblins.
======================
3.0 [ Getting There and the Kill Count ]
Teleport to Trollheim, drop 2 food, teleport back to Varrock, go to the bank and withdraw 3 food, then teleport back to Trollheim once
more and pick your food back up. From there, follow the map below.
[Image blocked; please upload it at an approved host.]
Protect From Range along the red line and Protect from Melee along the green.Once your inside the Godwars Dungeon, run north past the hobgoblins, to the small goblins (levels 3-14), and kill them to get your 40 kill count.
If you don't have a Zamorak Item, follow the red line, and kill hobgoblins there.
[Image blocked; please upload it at an approved host.]
When you have the 40 kills required, follow the blue line into the Bandos Stronghold (make sure you have a hammer, otherwise you will not be ableto get past the door). Once you are in, run to the door that leads into General Graardor's Chamber, but DO NOT go in yet.
======================
4.0 [ Killing General Graardor ]
4.1 [ Killing Graardor with Melee ]
~Protect from melee,
~Protect Item,
~Piety/Chivalry
Or if you are on Ancient Curses;
~Deflect melee
~Protect Item
~Berserker (If not using overloads)
~Leech Attack/Defence (both recomended)
or
~Turmoil
Also take auto-retaliate OFF! (This will save you having to run back to Graardor all the time)
Activate your quick prayers, and enter the chamber.
From here on, it gets hard. Attack General Graardor, using the Special Attack(s) up first, but only if you are using an AGS or BGS. Should you be using a SGS, use the Special Attacks up when your hitpoints go below 600, and your prayer drops below 40.
If you used a BGS, the spec should hopefully have lowered the General's defence, allowing you to hit harder, and more often.
Try to keep your lifepoints above 600 at ALL times. Graardor's Max hit with range is 35, and it either hits high, or doesn't hit at all. You can quite easily be dealt a 350 from Graardor,
and a 200 from either one of 3 minions, which often leads to death, and the loss of items. Remember to keep your prayer up at all times.
REMEMBER TO ATTACK GRAARDOR EVERY TIME YOU EAT.
Seeing as Auto-retaliate is off, you need to click on Graardor every time you eat/drink a potion, otherwise you will just stand there, being pummeled
by the General.
Also, If you are using Whip/DFS setup, dont forget that you can use the Dragonfire Shield's special attack. It can deal an extra 200-250 damage, and may help you finish Graardor off that little bit faster.
But remember, this isn't an ordinary special attack, you sacrifice a small portion of the shields' defensive stats to deal damage. Use it wisely.
[Image blocked; please upload it at an approved host.]
Once Graardor is dead, pick up the drop, and either;A)Stay and kill the 3 minions, starting with Steelwill (Magic), then Grimspike (Range) and lastly Strongstack (Melee).
Pray Protect (deflect) from Magic until Steelwill is history, then switch to Protect (deflect) from Ranged while you kill Grimspike and Melee afterward. I highly suggest leaving Protect (deflect) from melee on if you are staying for another kill.
If you have enough food for another kill, use the altar, then activate your boost and protect item prayers and get ready.
B) Teleport out to a safe spot, preferably your house (you don't lose any items on death there).
4.2 [ Killing Graardor with Ranged ]
Range is quite similar to Melee, when killing General Graardor.Drink a dose of Super Defence, and Ranging Potion once at the chamber door, set your quick prayers to;
~Protect from melee,
~Protect Item,
~Eagle Eye
Or if you are on Ancient Curses;
~Deflect melee
~Protect Item
~Berserker (If not using overload)
~Leech Defence
~Leech Range
Again, take auto-retaliate OFF!
Activate your quick prayers, equip your best bolts, enter the chamber and attack General Graardor. Dragon Bolts(e), with a high ranged level will take Graardor down unbelievably quick. The special attack (which occurs randomly) can deal very high damage on
the General! Once again, try to keep your HP above 600 (Graardor doesn't care if you safe), and your prayers on at all times.
Should you be using a DFS, dont forget that you can use its special attack, which can deal an extra 200-250 damage and may help you finish Graardor off that little bit faster.
But remember, this isn't an ordinary special attack, you sacrifice a small portion of the shields' defensive stats to deal damage. Use it wisely.
Again,
REMEMBER TO ATTACK GRAARDOR EVERY TIME YOU EAT.
You don't want to just stand there, getting hammered by those gigantic fists do you?
[Image blocked; please upload it at an approved host.]
When Graardor dies, pick up the drop, and either;A)Stay and kill the 3 minions, starting with Steelwill (Magic), then Grimspike (Range) and lastly Strongstack (Melee).
Pray Protect from Magic until Steelwill is history, then switch to Protect from Ranged while you kill Grimspike and Melee afterward. I highly suggest leaving Protect from melee on if you are staying for another kill.
If you have enough food for another kill, use the altar, then activate your boost and protect item prayers and get ready.
B) Teleport out to a safe spot, preferably your house (you don't lose any items on death there)
======================
4.3 [ Magic at Bandos ]
Freezing Graardor with Ice Barrage helps a great deal when ranging Graardor. The spell, which comes from the Ancient Magicks spell book, can deal up to 300 damage on General Graardor, as well as freezing him for up to 20 seconds.
While this may not seem like much, it is enough to get a couple of decent hits in on him.
It requires 94 magic, Ancient Magicks spell book (Desert Treasure completed), 4 death runes, 2 blood runes and 6 water runes per cast.
Also, instead of using Ice Barrage, you can use a Zamorak Godsword. This has the same effect as Ice Barrage, yet it can deal higher damage.
Vengeance is by far the better spell to against Graardor. The spell comes from the Lunar Magicks and will deal 75% of the damage dealt to you in one hit.
Whilst it can only be used once ever 30 seconds, it has the potential to hit mid 20's on Graardor if used correctly, just before he attacks with ranged.
If you get the timing right, you will deal back 75% of Graardors' ranged attack every time you use the spell. Get the timing wrong, and you will deal lower damage on one of the minions.
It also requires 94 magic, Lunar Spells (Lunar Diplomacy AND Dream Mentor completed), 4 astral, 10 earth and 2 death runes.
======================
5.0 [ Rewards ]
~Bandos Hilt (1/150)
~Bandos Chestplate (1/80)
~Bandos Tassets (1/70)
These items vary in price from 13-25mil, and are highly unstable on the
market. If you do get one of these items as a drop, I suggest waiting for the item to peak before selling.
6.0 [ Frequently Asked Questions ]
A: So you can get a Hilt, Chestplate or Tassets and wont have to split it, of course! Free 20m anyone?
Q: How many kills per trip do you get?
A: Myself? I get 2-3 (with 86 attack, 85 Strength, 85 Defence), but it is possible to get 7+ if you are maxed, and 10+ if using the best possible armor + weapons (this includes ancient PvP warriors' armor)
Q: What are the drop rates for Bandos?
A: Hilt: 1/150
Chestplate: 1/80
Tassets: 1/70
Boots: 1/70
Keep in mind these are AVERAGES. You are highly unlikely to get one hilt per 150 kills. You might get 0, you might get 4. This is an average drop rate.
Q: Ring of Life or Ring of Wealth?
A: I prefer to take a Ring of Wealth. It (apparently) increases the rate of valuable items. Hilt, Chestplate and Tassets are considered to be valuable, therefore it should increase the drop rate of these items.
If you do not wish to lose your items (upwards of 4m with the Verac's/Karil's setup), wear a ring of life. Be reminded that ring of life may not always work, especially if you get K.Oed (I've been hit 34-18-22 (74dmg in total) stacking together, which K.oed me, for a loss of 4m).
need to resort to stealing other peoples. If you are the victim of being crashed by some stuck-up noob, by all means, leach off them (damage
the minions to just under half hp while the other person is attacking Graardor).
Also, don't think just because you have the recommended stats, that you will be guaranteed a kill every time you go. Sometimes you'll have a fast
kill, and be able to do several more, or sometimes you might get hammered by the range attack (believe me, when he does it 10+ times in
a row, you'll use tones of food) and not even get 1 kill.
And lastly, DON'T blame me if you die and lose any items here. Its your choice to go, and the responsibility of those items is on you.
Thanks for reading my guide!
