So if two topics are created in Videos forum, one topic is closed and the original topic is edited?

The rules should reflect this then, that is not what merging means.

I don't think CL's can merge topics. Before they had to use a template topic and add both sides of a Clan Fight to it in order for it to be considered merged. Probably easier for them to close and edit.

Thats what I was guessing, probably just more convenient to edit the first topic than to merge the two.

@George: It is the same thing, adding a video/merging it, what's the difference? CL's couldn't merge topics, but, I just edited their permissions. If they close & edit, sure, that works too. It's not a rule on how its merged, its a rule stating only one topic is allowed, the means of which way it is done is irrelevant. Again.. what's the difference? I don't get it.

It's simple, merging topics allows for all posts to be preserved.

I still don't see the point of that? Regardless, you should be looking for a topic before making a new one, so it would be ones own ignorance if he/she creates a new video topic, when one already exists.

Why does this rule even exist if the topics are just going to get locked yet remain visible? You can still see the video in the locked topic & it still clutters the videos forum so this fixes nothing in terms of Chrisdale's original suggestion. Hide or entirely remove the extra topic once the video that it contains has been added to the original topic.

Can we stop nitpicking tiny things because of this new rule that was added? It's one topic.. the idea was to not have tons of topics clutter the forum like before (4+ videos for one fight). But, I've hid it, just for you.

I think it's cool that people are "nitpicking" tiny things—otherwise, would they really get fixed, if not questioned, or remain the same? It'd be pretty pointless to have made said rule, and merely close such topics rather than PMing the OP about it and hiding said topic. Otherwise the idea was to [of] not hav[ing] tons of topics clutter the forum like before would be absolutely nonsensical.
