**RESOLVED**

For the last few days, i have not been able to access runescape. When loading the game, i get stuck at this screen:


(Checking for updates - 97%)

This has been happening to me since the RuneTek 5 update. Also, the loading screen appears to 'twitch' occasionally. Any suggestions at all would be helpful.
What I have tried already:

• I have used another internet connection
  
• I have tried 2 browsers (firefox and the latest version of ie)
  
• I have tried using sun java instead of regular java
  
• I have waited 30 minutes for it to load
  
• I have erased old runescape cookies in hope to 'reset' the system

1. Reinstall Java
2. Wait, sometimes it takes a while depending on your internet connection

I reinstalled java and did a system restart...
but i am still getting the same problem

Open up My Computer or some other explorer window. Click the URL bar, and paste this in: C:\Windows\.jagex_cache_32

Delete everything in this folder. Try again.

Well, I let it sit for 10 minutes and it worked!!! thanks a lot mate.

Thanks. I deleted everything, including the hidden data in that folder. I thought it would work at first, as it reloaded the game code again, but I am still having the same issue. Is it possible that jagex is just out to get me?
