I'm planning on getting void, but i heard its best for range. I use melee the most but im planning on training my range a bit. So my question is: Is void armor good for melee too?

Meele void is really only good for hybriding, its a 1-3 click switch, meele to mage, unholy book, ancient staff, mage hood, youre ready. Only good void for training is ranged void.

At Ape Atoll Monkeys, using Full Void Melee is great when used with a Whip.

Seeing as your praying all the time, defensive bonuses don't matter and offense is all that counts - that extra 10% Att/Str (not 100% sure if it is that) is really good.

But generally, I'd stick to items like Bandos Chestplate, Fighter Torso, or even Rune if your not going to be praying or your training on monsters that will hit regularly through your defences.

Edit: probably the reason it is best for range (void armour that is), would be the fact when your in PvE situations and your ranging, your generally safespotting monsters and they cannot damage you at all, so once again, defensive bonuses are not required.

I know those are good but I havent finished fremnik (spelled it wrong) isles and i bet my stats arent high enough to use them. I'm saying at my level, where each combat stat is around 60. My combat is 74.

No Way! Melee void is a great set of armor. I use it all the time. Everybody is so power hungry that they forget that void doesn't just give a great strength bonus, it give attack too! It looks a lot better than other armor sets and getting maxed out gear with void is very easy. You are only missing out on at best 21 strength bonuses. I think the 10% strength level and 10% attack level makes up for it and way more. This is a great set because if you dont have enough cash for bandos or didn't complete recipe for disaster, then melee void would be your saving grace.

Edit: I also forgot to mention..IT STACKS WITH SALVE!

and magic void if you are rune pure and going to barrage rock lobsters
