I'm about to hit 70 defence and I'm wondering if it's worth it getting a guthans set instead of a dragon chain set, for general use and questing. Also, how much does repairing cost for the Guthans set and how often do I need to repair it?

It depends what monster you're gonna use against. But generally Guthan's set is more effective of the healings then dragon set.
To the reparing; For full it costs like ~200-250k to repair at Bob.

well id say.... yes, because its better for trainen coz u can heal urself and its good for gwd, but ud have to repair it once in a while.. but still id stick to guthans.

I'm gonna use it for questing and slayer, general use, some PvP, not just against one type of monster. I don't do Gwd.

Guthans is definitely better than the dragon chain set.  And because of your construction and smithing level, you can repair it on an armour stand for like 100-150k total (from 0 i believe).  

You're talking about using armour sets for PvP, but imo neither dragon or guthans would be effective.  However, for slayer, questing, and "general use" (i'm assuming barrows, waterfiends, etc stuff on that nature), Guthans is definitely the best choice.

Aite I'll get that Guthans set in that case. How often does it need repairing?

It lasts 15 hours of combat. It costs 330k to repair to full set set when it's completely broken. Please note that you can create an Armour stand in the workshop of your House, and repair it there. The cost of repairing your armour by yourself depends on your smithing level, and is much less than taking it to an NPC for repair.
