Ever have a suggestion or improvement about Player Kills you've wanted to voice? Feel free to post them here, where the staff of Player Kills will review and comment on. Alternatively, if the suggestion seems one that could greatly improve PK, it'll be discussed amongst the PK staff and possibly implemented into PK.

Guidelines:

• This thread is strictly for suggestions/improvements to Player Kills only.
  
• Accusations of biased staff will not be allowed on this thread. If you've problems with specific staff members, voice your queries via PM with the PK Senior staff members (blackspy, THOMAS).

Since pretty much all videos posted on Player Kills get moved to PK Videos without question, would it not make sense to remove the 50 post requirement?

This could also prevent pointless spam from new members (and increase the amount of 'budding new noobs' who release vids to criticize (positively of course, although not for some))


Also, perhaps its a bit silly that people have to post pictures of a random unexplained kill to meet the '500k requirement'. For example, in x0 x h1 x0 x's topic, he has clearly pked someone for a white phat.
So i was thinking, maybe if they have a picture of the person dying that could be taken into account... since pvp can often give 50k loot for 50m+ worth kills.

Oh well i don't know, just something you might be interested in discussing.

Regarding the 50 post requirement; the requirement isn't merely to prevent spam, but also suspicious links. By having them post in the Player Kills main forum, moderators are immediately able to scan/check if they are indeed without problem. There are also some instances (very few) where videos don't meet the allowed requirements. In any case, these videos are usually moved to the PK video section immediately.

About the second suggestion; that is something I will look into. Provided the screenshot prior to the death (showing gear) and another of the actual kill message could be acceptable.

Ahh finaly somewhere i can post my ideas!

1) You made "Pk Video Of The Month", so why not make "Pk Gallery Of The Month"? This will be based on the most Viewed, Updated, Amount Of Kills updated each month... Ofcorse there will be Team/Clan gallerys and Solo gallerys, so you could spilt it into "Solo Gallery Of The Month" and "Team/Clan Gallery Of The Month".

2) The new "Rating Videos" deducts the point of posting a video on here... people don't post that much they just Rate it and if you have alot of people that don't like you they can just abuse it and put it to 1Star making your Video look rubbish. YouTube has a rating system nerly same as this, so i don't see the point of it on here.

3) You could make a "Vetran" SubForm for all the "Old School" Pkers that pked before the Wilderness was taken away, so they can talk, share memories and post there Old School Gallerys/Videos there... without being shoved to the side by all the new pkers. This will also show some respect to the old school pkers.

4) The "100k Loot Requirment", this shouldn't be effect by the Loot you recieve but the Loot you killed the person for... let me explain. So you kill a person for a Blue Partyhat and have a screenie of them falling to the floor, but you only get 30k Loot from the PvP System, this shouldn't mean that you can't post it. If you have proof that he lost it (Pic of them falling to the floor) then you should be able to post it without adding a Pic to keep the thread open.

I will think of more to come, hope you take a read of that.

2) I have not sensed any reduction in amount of comments due to this new system. And the people that is posting relevant non-spam stuff, will still post on the topic. We have already been over this in the sticky in PK-Videos.

3) We have the Old Skool Archives. We have a sticky in PK General to discuss things before Bounty Hunter. And lastly, there are not enough activity in PK-Videos to over-shadow the old Wilderness videos. A whole new subforum just for posting stuff, that can't even be changed/updated, doesn't seem like something worth doing.

At last a topic like this, I've been wondering for months when something like this would show up .

1) The 100k loot recruitment. It's good for regular PvP/BH kills but when it comes to (for example) PKing partyhats/good armor etc. and the loot is worth less than 100k, they should be allowed as long as you have a pic/vid of the person falling to the floor.

2) The Death Match Requests topic. In my opinion it's not really that needed at all - people aren't using it as much as they used to. Or close it for a while and it seems fit to reopen it again then you can do so.

3) Makover for the next PK awards. You guys might have discussed this aready but why not have different awards for best PvP PKers and BH PKers.

4) Awards for PKG. Why not have some kind of awards for the PKG. They don't have to be monthly or whatsoever, you could just try to do it once, "Best PKG topic" "Best Poster" awards etc.

Well, hopefully I made some sense out of my suggestions and I hope you read them

Well, hopefully I made some sense out of my suggestions and I hope you read them

• Rest assured, this suggestion is currently being discussed amongst the PK staff.
  
• We will take this into consideration also. There is an apparent stint of inactivity at the moment, so we'll see.
  
• The last award ceremony didn't include the PVP wilderness; naturally we'll be including these categories in the next award ceremony based on what is to date.
  
• There are a few kinks to setting up an actual poster of the month for the PK section, but it is certainly within the realms of possibility. This may be possible, so don't send it out of thought just yet.

This have been considered before. The main question is "activity". If there's enough activity to split into two forums, then we might do it. But if it's the same activity as with the old Bounty Hunter, then it can't be a defendable thing to do.

Ever since the original wilderness had been removed, activity has noticeably decreased in the PKD forum. If the Bounty Hunter mini game will be successful, the increase of activity will most likely not exceed that of the previous wilderness era. From what we're to hear, the mini game encompasses the "bounty + target" concept, as well as incorporating a better PVP drop system. Knowing this, there really shouldn't be much of a difference in terms of kills(drops, kill messages, etc), to warrant an extra board.

Good suggestion though.

This is just my opinion but I really cba to open a topic when it says "300m+ pvp gallery", there should be a subforum for galleries because I really don't want to be lagged out. Limit a topic to 3 kill pics per topic or something like that. The latter suggestion could be used in conjuction with the removal of 100k req and just have deaths screenied.

Imo.

Edit: Clarification, I'm not against galleries I just don't want to open a gallery that could possibly lag me out while I'm playing runescape. Sub forum would be nice.

Wait, if you understand that it's a gallery and that you've the potential to lag out - why don't you just not click on the thread ?

By all means; the suggestion is alright, but if the topic title and description provide or implies hints of possibly containing a lot of screenshots, simply don't click it. I know that a massive amount of pictures can be extremely laggy, but this problem can be avoided without the need to create another sub forum.
