Great idea. Merchanting for the lazy/dumb people!

What? I can't see how this primarily suits 'lazy/dumb' people. You still have to stand around the Grand Exchange yelling random crap such as "LENDING BGS, 10K PER HOUR!!!!111", if the item(s) don't get snapped up immediatly on the GE anyway. Just like normal merchanting. There isn't any significant advantage to this that I can see.

lending was only an addition to the game to permit Friends to borrow items, permitting game wide offers on borrowing is more like runescape rentals,

Outstanding idea you got there pal..

more efficient way for pple to make a fast cash for their prized asset.. and pple who wanna borrow could do it almost effortlessly...

i realli hope jagex has a mod or 2 reading this thread and perhaps implement it into their development proper..

I support. Only thing I see as a problem (which you have acknowledged too) is the price range. Good luck

Maybe Jagex can figure out a price range by taking the total gross amount of the item per day and dividing it by the amount bought/sold. Dont know yet, still trying to figure things out.

Hmmm... This is a decent idea. However, you may want to think about adding onto it. I was going to ask "How would you know if you were buying\selling or borrowing\lending?" but I noticed towards the bottom you had fixed that issue.

How would the prices be dished out? Would JAGeX also control those, as JAGeX controls the prices of the item in the sell\buy? That is seemingly my only question, for now. I support this & will look back into it. It's a decent idea.

Wait, before I forget, one more question, what if nobody wants to lend the item or that item has a high demand of lending? How would that work. For example, I want to borrow a Zamorak Godsword, as I don't know if I want to buy it or not. However, let's say that the Zamorak Godsword had a high demand that day, because the items for GWD went up & people were borrowing them for GWD. How would that work out? (NOTE: If this makes no sense, I will try to reword it when I check back).

Odd facts about me:
My friends are basically my most important part of life.
My first name is Olivia, not Kelly. Kelly is my second-middle name.
I'm Wiccan. I'm bisexual (mainly into girls, but like guys, too), dislike liars, beggars, & when people repeat things. I'm terrified of heights & bugs.
I'm addicted to an American drink called "Sunkist" (it's just like Tango & Crush; it's orange soda). However, I only drink Diet Sunkist. I can't too much sugar AND caffinee, as it's bad for my heart.
I'm making a new theme with my signatures...I make sure they contain eyes :o. I'll probably get bored & stop this easily, but I'd like to persue having small images.

Jagex would never do it. It's to easy to do. And Jagex doesnt like people making money too easily.

Jagex would only be able to assign lending prices to items on the GE.

If the lending prices were applied to items when they were loaned in regular trades there would be a major problem.

Either
A. People would not be able to lend items for free, which is the whole point of the lending system.
or
B. If people could either use the market price of the lending value or give for free, this would cause major problems as far as unbalanced trading goes.

Say I want to give my buddy 1000k. My buddy has a godsword. The value of the godsword lend for 24 hours is 100k.

He gives me the godsword for 24 hours for the 100k I give him.

I immediately return the godsword to him by using it on him.

He again lends me the godsword for another 24 hours for 100k.

I return it to him, and we repeat this until he's gotten his 1000k.

GREAT idea. for those who dont have good ways to make money can borrow items they would like to use or items they require.

And its also a bonus for those who are lending stuff out.

Just a quick question tho. how many items can you borrow/lend out. will it still be 1 item?

But if Jagex killed RuneScape because of RWT, then that must mean that RWT still killed RuneScape!

Interesting point you have there. Maybe Jagex would enable it so you the borrower has to keep it until the time limit is up. But if they lend outside of the Grand Exchange, then that is probably already happening about what you said.

Good idea, would help a lot with giving me extra time other than getting junk as well as wasting time finding a buyer.

It's a very good idea, yes.
But the 'logout' is not needed for logical reasons.

Remove the 'lend - borrow' option on the right-click of the grand exchange clerk.
Use 'buy/sell' and 'lend/borrow' tabs instead on the Exchange option.

Why is the "log out" not needed? You can select it as an option when borrowing regularly.

they need to return the item back right..?

What happens if..

1 - a noobs borrowed a full helm, then borrowed, a pl8, then borrowed a legs, then borrowed a scim, and a sheild
2 - he fought a goblin and died.
3 - he can't return back the item as he lost scim and helm..

And hes level 3, died to a goblin in iron armour.

even it is iron, it still an item.

Good idea, but it would make it way to easy for people to make money from just doing nothing. Also over time the GE would become so flooded with the items people would be lending that it would be very hard to even lend anything out.
