Just the other day, I was standing around the Grand Exchange trying to borrow a Saradomin Sword so I could see how good it was for strength training. I couldn't find anyone who had one to lend out to me. So I thought about the Grand Exchange and how you can buy/sell any item on there almost instantly. So why not make the Grand Exchange lend/borrow compatible?

It would work like this, when you right click on one of the Grand Exchange clerks, Jagex could add an extra option that would say "Lend/Borrow Exchange". It then brings you to a screen just like the one that you would choose to either sell or buy an item but instead, lend or borrow. If you click on lend, you select the item in your inventory that you wish to lend out and choose the price and how long the person barrowing can keep it for.
If you were to click on borrow, you would type in the item that you want to borrow and set how long you will want it for and the price you will pay.
To get the item will work the same way as when you buy/sell an item, you click on it when the little bar below the item is green.
I know that there is some flaws in this system, as in some people might put big prices to lend or borrow for items than that of people would buy or vice-versa. Hopefully Jagex could work that out like put in a price range at which you can put up or ask for.

Even though most items can be lent out or borrowed, some items can not. The items that you can't lend out or borrow include:

• Construction Supplies
  
• Potions
  
• Certain Jewerly
  
• Seeds
  
• Charms

• Tokkul
  
• Tickets
  
• Spirit Shards
  
• Pouches
  
• Charged Items
  
• Rewards from Minigames
  
• Herbs
  
• Sacred Clay Items

i really hope jagex brings out something like this

I think this would be a very good idea, but with some flaws. Jagex would have to put in trade limits on the items, that is a must. But here is where you have to make a choice. Does the price rise for better items? Could I borrow a rune scimitar for 1,000 gp while a partyhat goes for 100,000? If so, then you have the whole conundrum of Jagex setting prices based on what they think the item is worth. A more feasible solution is to have a standard fee for all items based per hour.

There should be an interface to put up items (IE: Junk).

Seems good, should add images and more information though about how they could design it. Never know if game developers and such look over the fan sites these days.

Most likely if Jagex made prices for lends, many players would think they were off the mark and thus still need to gather junk.

Great idea, I would love something like this to come into play. When I'm skilling, I could simply lend out my rune items in the meantime, and make even more cash! I really do hope Jagex does something like this soon.

This is a very useful idea. Making lending as easy as trading would be a great source of income for players with good items to lend, and would make many players happy. Plus, no more sitting around in the GE "lending [insert item here] for [price]" over and over again...

But, i do see a flaw.

I'd take out the "until log out" option. Simply because people could lend it for (set amount) Then log out, and redo it over.

I like this idea. Since the G.E. update, less people have turned to the forums unless for junk trades. It would be easier just to add this to the G.E. since it already seems to be popular. It would be much easier, especially if your not looking to borrow a popular item, like a mask or something. Also if your not using your items at the time and won't be because your working on something else, and don't feel like taking the time to look for someone who wants your item.

Seems like a good idea to me. I got a change that could make your suggestion look a bit better. Remove the pictures and paste this code where the pictures used to be. It will get rid of the stupid fish advertisements and will make it so it doesn't link to imageshack.

It would be a good idea, especially if the price was a certain percentage of the items' maximum and minimum(so you have limits, but can still have competition and flexibility).

I have a question or two that you may wish to address in your suggestion: How would Jagex decide the lending prices? How far up could the lending prices go...30K? Would that 30K lending price only apply ingame and allow much higher lending prices in the Grand Exchange?

The item / 100k (for an item over 100k) below is : The item / 10k. Could solve the problem? Or just keep it as trade limits....

Certainly seems like a great idea! Would overall help out lenders and lendees! I do have a feeling there would need to be a price range set by Jagex however (And there probably would be). Which some people might not like but you can't be too greedy
