About me - Runescape

Posted Image

Hello there. Firstly, I'd like to thank you for clicking my thread out of the many fantastic pieces of art that dwell here. My username is Angury and I have been playing Runescape since late 2006/early 2007 (can't quite remember). I first heard about Runescape through a game I used to play at the time called Habbo Hotel. I decided to make an account, and ended up dying at Lumbridge on my first day by accidently attacking a Man (I thought he was a player so I was trying to ask him questions :-)). Luckily, I had a few friends who played the game, so they helped me out alot. My first method of making money back then was skilling - I would mine iron, tin and copper at the Varrock East mine, run all the way to Al Kharid to smelt the ores into bars, then run back to Varrock to smith the bars into plates, before finally selling the armour to the general store. At the time I didn't know anything about teleports (and probably couldn't afford tabs) but looking back now, I had alot of fun. F2P skilling areas are packed in general, but I had alot of fun fighting for ores, being jealous of someones adamant pickaxe and hoping that a rat wouldn't kill me on my journey (I still hate the Al-Kharid mine to this day since I died there during my first few weeks due to a scorpion). As time went on and I began to enjoy the game even more, I decided to buy members. I still remember walking through the Taverly gate - a place where I had often stood as a F2P player trying to get a glimpse of what it was like to be P2P - and admiring every minuscle detail. I think I pretty much spent my first day as a member walking through all the cities oohing and aahing as people laughed at me.

As time has gone on, I've slowly trained my skills, travelled the map, defeated strange creatures and met such a large and diverse group of people who I can proudly call my friends. I've also developed a passion for Slayer, as it's something I find relaxing (I find killing monsters relaxing.. how odd) and I hope one day to have 30-40M slayer exp. Another one of my favourite pastimes is chilling in Castle Wars transforming players into ice cubes. I've been doing this since I achieved 94 Magic, and plan to continue hanging out there until I quit. It's one of the main reasons I play Runescape and someday, when I have a hoard of cash lying in my bank I plan to buy a ton of ice barrages and camp there all day.<3
I currently reside in w24 as it's my homeworld, so if you're ever there you might catch a glimpse of me wizzing past you. I also sometimes use w86 as it's my clans world, although I mainly just use it for events. I'm a rather quiet person ingame, and only have one or two people on my friendlist who I talk to regularly, as many have quit (maybe they were the smart ones). My private and public chats are always on though, and I would love to widen my friendlist, so please feel free to add me. I may be a little strange, but I'm sure we'll end up having some interesting conversations once we get to know each other. :-)

About me - Real Life

Hello there. My real name is Gunjan and I am currently doing my AS Levels. My ambition is to study medicine at university and eventually become a doctor (I currently have an interest in psychiatry, but that'll probaby change). I am a big fan of fantasy books - the best thing in my opinion is coming across a new fantasy series that you've never read before, and getting completely lost inside another world. Its amazing how much detail an author puts into their book - new languages, new countries, new cultures and a huge variety of characters to follow the journey with. Some of my favourite authors are JK Rowling, Robert Jordan, Dan Brown, Jodie Picoult, Jonathan Stroud and JRR Tolkien. Another thing I love about fantasty books is being able to join various forums across the internet, speculate with fans about the plotline and analyse the book from start to finish. Chatting to other fans can reveal so much in a book that you never knew was there, and can open your eyes to new ideas.
As is obvious by my avatar and profile picture, I am also a very big MJ fan. No, I'm not one of those people who suddenly decided to become a fan after he died despite making jokes about him while he was alive. I've been a proud fan for many years, and had bought tickets to his summer concert. There's no paticular music genre that I like, so I'm not sure how I'd label my music taste. Some of my favourite artists are Marilyn Manson, Eminem, Linkin Park and Rihanna. I also listen to spanish music, which I think is a beautiful language and hope to learn properly someday, and often watch Bollywood films which are usually accompanied by Hindi songs. I enjoy listening to classical music as well - in paticular I am a fan of the violinists David Garrett and Itzhak Perlman.
I realise I may have rambled on a little (or perhaps not enough) but it's hard to find a balance between saying too much and making yourself sound interesting. Yes, I am a bit of a nerd but which runescape player isn't!

Goals

17M/20M Mining Exp

After achieving the completionist cape, I've decided to get all my skills to 20m exp. My plan for mining has always been to mine gold at the Living Rock Caverns because it's afkable and pretty good cash. I've tweaked my plan slightly though, due to my lack of money. Instead of selling the gold ore once I'm finished, I will be smelting them into gold bars in order to get 20m smithing. I won't however be using superheat, as it's something I cannot afford at the moment (I must be one of the poorest max players out there).
I've also been thinking about making gold bracelets from the bars (thanks to Isobel for the idea!) for 20m crafting exp, but having recently come across another crafting method involving the supermake glass spell, I'm still unsure. I guess I'll see how long 20m mining and smithing exp take before adding more goals to my thread. For now, I will be mining on world 88 (world 84 is ridiculously laggy for me).

Posted ImageSince I've set myself the goal of going for 20m mining experience, I figured I may as well get the golden mining suit for the bonus, especially after noticing so many people wearing it at the Living Rock Caverns. It took me around 850k mining experience at 35k exp/hour there to get the full suit including the gilded dragon pickaxe. I think that's a little above average but then again, I am a pretty unlucky person. I'm not sure if it was actually worth the time spending there, because I haven't noticed much of a difference in my exp/hour while mining gold, but then again it also looks pretty nice and I'm all for cosmetics.
I've also been continuing my boss hunting trips with a friend, and we both decided to go to DKs because we had so much fun during the clan event. We did FFA share so that we could use our ring of wealth and I easily made profit from the trip just from the hides and bones I banked. Along with that, we got quite a few drops - my memory is awful but I think we got two dragon hatchets, two seers rings and three warrior rings. It's a pity we didn't get any berserker rings since those are the most valuable drops, but it's persuaded us to come back some time, because unlike God Wars, even if you're incredibely unlucky you still manage to make a profit through the common drops at DKs. One thing I found a little funny though - while we were there I suddenly started lagging and I think my hitpoints got close to 50. My friend started getting really worried for me and began to use his saradomin brews on me thinking he could heal me the way you could in DG. I guess we're both pretty big DG nerds, but I'm grateful that he tried to save my life.

As well as boss hunting, we had our first ever skill week in our clan and the skill was Agility. I had a goal of 14m agility experience which I managed to achieve pretty easily by training at the Advanced Gnome Course. I was actually dreading agility, but training with other clan members made it really fun. We would race laps together and have breaks every now and then to do herb runs together so it was an enjoyable experience. We also had an event at the Brimhaven Agility Arena which I havent been to in years, but again the competitive element of it was a great way to motivate everyone to get to the ticket dispenser first. I don't think I'll be winning the skill week since some people have managed to get close to 2M experience within the week, but I had a great time training the skill.

I also wanted to mention the recent graphical updates to the Grand Exchange and Edgeville. I've been really looking forward to these, because I always love graphical updates, and I thought the GE looked fantastic. It makes it so much easier for me when I'm entering the GE from the north to have a bank a few steps away. Plus I don't lag as much everytime I enter the GE because everyone is spread out throughout the four banks, whereas previously everyone was concentrated in the middle, making it much slower for me. I also thought that Edgeville looked great, and I'm eager to find out what lies behind that locked door. The reason I decided to mention this update is because I've noticed so many people complaining about it. I could understand if there was some reason behind their complaining but really it's just nostalgia. Some people seem to prefer the past, and when things start to change they will desperately cling to the old and refuse to let go. I've actually found it quite frustrating that after every single update people have something to moan about. Sure, Jagex aren't perfect and are bound to make mistakes, but why not give things a chance before automatically categorizing it as "the worst update ever." There have been a lot of brilliant updates in the past and it seems that people love to complain and refuse to appreciate the good things. It's much easier to moan about every single thing that Jagex releases and claim that the old updates were better than to take your time to compliment on something that has taken a lot of time and effort to produce and has improved the game for everyone. So.. yeah there's my rant. I'm getting very prone to them so I really should stop before I make myself an army of enemies, but the great thing about having a blog is that you can put out your own opinion and hear what other people have to say about it, hence making some great conversations.

Anyway, that's me done rambling. I am unsure if I will be posting another update soon because I am recieving my AS Results on Thursday (and dreading it!) plus I have an exam on Saturday (which I am also dreading). I will try to keep the thread updated though, and will continue to mine at LRC whenever I have the time so hopefully that 20m experience won't be too far away by the time the next blog entry appears.

I also wanted to give my thanks to everyone who voted for me in the Best Thread and Best Personality polls, because it was a lovely shock when I found out I'd won the Best Thread. Personally, I felt I'd been slacking with this thread and could be doing a lot more to make it look more appealing, but it's a really lovely feeling to know that there were people out there who read this thread and liked it enough to actually vote for it against all the other amazing nominations. ^_^

6th August

Posted ImageI'm going to start this blog off with a rant about DG. Most of you were probably hoping I'd never go back to discussing it on my blogs since I spent the past few months doing nothing but that. Well, sorry to disappoint you, but I was having a conversation with a few clan members about this and wanted to give my opinions on this thread. What's really been annoying me lately is people's attitude to DG. At least the ones I've come across. Their just so obsessed with time. I can understand that you want fast exp/hour, I'm sure anyone would say yes to that, but the way people treat others over it is pretty disgusting to be honest. People have become so obssessed with timing floors now that they refuse to give others the chance to learn simply because it'll cost them 3-4 minutes of a floor. We didn't all start out as experienced DGers the day we started. We all got here through practice, and refusing to give others the chance to learn how to do things like puzzles or fight a certain boss because you want to screenie a 15 minute floor so you can show it off to your mates is quite frankly selfish. I recently DG'd with a few good friends of mine, two of whom were pretty low level'd and didn't have a hood. I could instantly tell that one of my friends was getting very frustrated at the fact that we had to constantly clear emote and puzzle rooms for our non-hooded friends, and the fact that he had to wait a few minutes whilst we explained how to complete a ramokee and merc room.
As much as I love DGing, I've made a promise to myself only to DG with either friends or low levels. My reason for this is that unlike higher levels who only want high exp/hour and to complete the floor as quickily as possible, low levels (at least the ones I'm friends with) enjoy learning new methods of completing the floor, new tips and tricks and don't rage at you if a floor is "only" 35 minutes long. Anyway, that's my rant over, I apologise if you had to read through that waffle but I really wanted to get my opinion across. I'm not bashing anyone who enjoys doing 15-20 minute floors by the way, I just find it frustrating how some high levels treat those who are lower than them and are too concerned with their own experience.

Ok.. so moving on! I have now completed my 20m firemaking goal, and it's amazing how quickly it flew by. I have a feeling that place is gonna get packed pretty quickly - while I was training the number of people there was slowly increasing day by day until eventually I had to hop worlds several times because it was impossible for me to find any roots to chop. So I'm glad I've gotten FM over with while the place was still a little empty.
My new goal now is to go for 20m mining exp. If you've read the goals section, you'll know that I'm also planning to smelt these ores for 20m smithing exp. My inital plan was to make adamant platebodies, but the cash in my bank is so low that it wasn't even an option anymore. Whilst chatting about my plans for this goal in my clans IRC, a friend suggested making gold bracelets from the bars for crafting exp. I'm a little unsure whether I'll carry this out, because I've recently come across another crafting method which involves using the supermake glass spell, and sounds like good exp/hour at a decent loss. I guess I'll try out both methods and see which one I prefer, but for now I want to make sure I don't get too carried away and just stick to mining.

I have also been boss hunting with a good friend of mine who convinced me to go. I've been talking about going for ages, but once the time comes, I always make excuses. My friend persuaded me that it would be a good laugh though, so we decided to try out arma and I'm glad I went because we ended up getting an armadyl chestplate drop. Whilst there, my friend and I were messing around a bit and I mentioned Helen and L ieven. Ok, so maybe I'm not in the same league as them but someday I want to be as pro as they are at boss hunting! Anyhow, after this successful trip I was feeling a little more adventerous so we went on a sara trip. Unfortunately we recieved no good drops but it was fun nevertheless (although towards the end I was beginning to feel dizzy after all that running round in circles.. it was worse than Agility). Today I hosted a DKs trip with my clan which was once again a lot of fun. I've never been to a DKs mass before, and have never used a cannon there but it was so much fun! The Kings died pretty quickly so it was quite relaxed, and although I didn't recieve any drops, a lot of the other clan members did, including 2 berserker rings, a seers ring, an archer ring, a warrior ring, a seercull bow and 2 dragon hatchets. I'm tempted to go tribrid with a friend sometime, because I've never done it before but after the clan event I've realised it's so much more fun than just solo maging.

That's about it for now. Hopefully the next blog entry won't be a long way away, although I do have some revision to do for the UKCAT. I plan to add another section to the thread for more information on my clan, and I am thinking about deleting the Videos section.. it seems pretty pointless and I don't think anyone even gives it more than a glance. Would love to hear some opinions on that, and of course my long DG rant which I hope didn't scare some of you away. Hope this blog wasn't too much of a hassle to read through!

1st August

Decided to put up a quick blog entry to make up for all those irregular updates I had earlier. Since achieving the completionist cape I have been doing a number of things. Firstly I managed to achieve 20m slayer exp, but the training itself was a bit of a shock. Having lived in Daemonheim for the past few months, it was a bit of a suprise to check the Grand Exchange and find that staff of lights were only 1.2m, whips were only 950k, dark bows were only 300k and dragon boots were only 175k! Slayer has always been my main method of making money, but now I'm a little lost. The one good thing that has come out of all these cheap items though is the fact that I can now turmoil all my tasks due to the cheapness of prayer potions. It's been so much fun completing tasks in half the time it would normally have taken me, and wearing the completionist cape means I've got the stats of both the fire cape and the ardourgne cape. After achieving 20m slayer exp, I decided that the best way for me to make cash now would be to RC. Once again, it seems I was wrong. Gone are the days where making double nats could make you upto 1m cash per hour. It seems that blood runes are still good cash however, so I've bought a ton of pure essence, and plan to make some profit (if not much). The only thing stopping me is abyss pking. A few people have already tried to PK me once, and although it does make RCing a bit more exciting, it's gotten a bit frustrating now. I guess I will stick to it as it's my only method of making cash at the moment. Plus, a couple of friends suggested that they'd come with me to protect me.<3

The rest of my time has been spent with the clan during events (such as a recent KBD event as is shown above) and in the clan citadal. The update certainly lived upto my expectations - everything looks fantastic, and I can't wait to see what higher tiers have to offer. I have yet to try out the battlefield but I'm looking forward to the fact that it's not just for combat. I also went to Herblore Habitat for the first time. A few of my friends have been nagging me for a while to check it out, but what really persuaded me to go was after a herb run with my friend. We were both comparing how may herbs we had recieved, and it was a bit of a suprise when he told me he had recieved 50 herbs just from one run. So I decided to get my own juju farming potions and also see what all this fuss was about. I managed to make myself a few potions but the thing that really stuck out at me was the new firemaking method. It's now possible to get 200k+ exp/hour without spending a single gp. It sounds too good to be true, but after camping there for a few hours I've decided that this will be my method for 20m firemaking exp (which is a bit of a relief because burning 33k maple logs isn't really my idea of fun).

Posted Image Posted Image

Whilst slaying I also noticed someone with a royal cannon and immediately decided that I wanted one. I realise that it has absolutely no benefits but being able to show it off to others is a good enough reason for me. I've also made a new goal for myself to try out every new update on RS, so I wanted to check out the Artisan Workshop. Despite being a bit costly, making ceremonial swords is oddly enjoyable. Alright, so I did break a few swords when I first tried it out, but I've managed to get the hang of it now and have since then achieved the gold cannon. I just need 50% more respect to get the royal cannon, then I can go around and boast to others.
Lastly, I wanted to mention the BTS for August. This month looks like it's going to be packed full of updates, and actually good updates! I've always felt that Edgeville deserved a makeover, and after seeing what a fantastic job they did to Draynor, I'm sure I won't be dissapointed. The new rewards for various minigames also sounds like an incentive for me to go and check them out. The new spells to different patches from Livid Farm especially sounds exciting (and I realise that Livid Farm can be a little dull to play, but all you need is a full series of The Big Bang episodes to watch!<3). Overall, I'm looking forward to this month and I'm sure it won't disappoint. :-O

26th July

Posted ImageSo it's been a long time since I last added a blog entry, but I have continued to update the thread. The reason I didn't include any blogs was simply because I had nothing to say! All I was doing was Dungeoneering, and there really isn't much to say about that so I decided to wait until I had something to say - and believe me I've got a lot! Since the last update I managed to get both 120 Dungeoneering and the completionist cape. I got the last few dungeoneering levels with my clan, and at level 119 I destroyed the hex bow. Yep, you read that right. No, I'm not crazy. I've had the hex since level 111 and despite my initial excitement I've come to realise it's really not that good, and not worth a bind (for me anyway). Firstly, the lack of plate whilst having a hex bound really annoyed me - some people say that you really don't need a plate, and no you don't.. but it certainly makes things a whole lot easier! I realise that since I was so close to 120 DG I could have just waited then bound a plate, but unfortunately a platebody has negative range bonus so that wouldn't have worked well with the hex. Secondly, I really hate the way I have to switch weapons in every single room. The hex is limited in what it can kill - sure it's great on mages but on everything else? The primal 2h + t10 berserker are much better. Since I destroyed the hex, I've had so much more freedom on floors - I can actually enter a room without being killed in the first five seconds, and I'm able to run around opening skill doors and completing puzzles without having to worry about dying before the room is complete. I do realise that some people (in fact a lot of people) won't agree with me, but personally I'm having a lot more fun DGing without the hex.

Once I'd gotten 120 DG (by using 4M tokens and getting on the top of the rune tracker list), I was aiming to get the completionist cape. I thought it would be pretty simple - just get the livid farm spells, complete the quests, unlock the music and you're done! How naive. I think unlocking the music tracks took the longest - there were so many minigames I had to play, so many miniquests to complete and so many new places to visit. To be quite honest though, I'm really glad I did it. It's made me realise how much I've limited myself whilst playing this game - my goals have always revolve around getting the next 99, training the next skill and getting the next cape. I rarely played any minigames or checked out any miniquests - as long as they didn't unlock any new training methods what did I care? Obtaining the completionist cape has made me realise how much I've missed out on. I had so much fun completing the "Buyers and Capers" miniquest, running through the Rogues Den (which I plan to complete someday) and meeting new people at the Shades of Mort'on minigame. A lot of people have been asking me what I'll be doing next, and my usual answer has been something along the lines of "DG/Castle Wars/Slayer." Now however, I'm going to try out some minigames including Mobilising Armies, Conquest and Trouble Brewing. I will also continue to DG - I'm not going for 200m exp, but I have a few low-level'd friends who I promised to help. A much better alternative compared to training on w117 I'd say.

Posted Image Posted Image

I will also be DGing with my clan as I agreed to help some people get to 120, and if anyone is in need of a DG team, feel free to join our irc channel #skill_night. We're always looking for more people to complete floors with. I'd also like to add that if you need any bind to be made (such as a prom 2h or prom platebody) I would be happy to make it for you free of charge. Please don't pay someone 3M for a weapon (which I have seen people do countless times). Just PM me ingame and I will happily give up my time for you.

Now that I have achieved the completionist cape, hopefully my adventures will be a little more interesting and I will be able to make my blog entries more regular. On a side note, please forgive me for the banner - I wanted to add something that showed off the completionist cape, yet instead I think I've just made it worse!

99 Stats

Posted ImagePosted Image 1. Cooking
- December 2007

Because this was my first cape, I wanted to go for something fast and easy.
I was told firemaking was incredibely fast, but I couldn't stand all that clicking, so I decided to go for Cooking. I cooked lobsters from 80 to 92 with gauntlets, then I started using cooking gauntlets with Sharks. I didnt have a party (I don't usually have parties) so it was nothing exciting.

The cape itself isn't too bad. I like the rich red and purple colours, but a lot of people look down on it and make sarcastic remarks, because it's a "noobish cape".
Posted ImagePosted Image 2. Fletching
- August 2008

I wanted to get another fast 99 to trim my cooking cape (I'm impatient) so I went with Fletching.
This was with the Grand Exchange, so it was a bit hard to make money, but I made yew longbows from 75 to 99. I alched most of the bows for 90 Magic, and I sold the rest for a little profit.
Again, I didn't really have a party, but there was no one there to celebrate it with anyway, because no one was online at the time.
I love the colour gold, so I really liked the trim with this cape, and for a long time, this was the only cape I wore. I don't care if people think it's another "noobish cape". It's pretty.

- October 2008
Level up Screenie

I love the colours of this cape. I trained it with Slayer with controlled from 90-95, then decided this was going to be my first combat 99, and trained it to 99 with Slayer.
I enjoyed training this skill, because not only was I training it with Slayer which is my favourite skill, but also because I knew it would be worth it in the end to have such an awesome cape. <33
I was planning to solo Bandos after getting this 99, because I thought it would help. Well I tried.. and failed. Oh well, 99 Defence is still useful for Slayer at least.
Posted ImagePosted Image 4. Hitpoints
- November 2008
Level up Screenie

I got this by training the rest of my combat stats with Slayer.
I was really aiming for an untrimmed hitpoints cape at the start, but I got annoyed with the amount of people expecting a high leveled player to have an achievement cape, so I got my Fletching and Cooking cape.
Now I regret it. I think an untrimmed hitpoints cape would have looked amazing.
I like this cape, because of it's white trim, it will go with anything. I sometimes wear it when I am skilling (which isn't very often) because it is a rather nice looking cape.
Hitpoints is also quite a slow skill to train, so I am proud of this 99.

Level up Screenie

Like most of my combat stats, I got this up by training Slayer.
Originally, this was going to be my first combat 99, because of the lovely colours of this cape, but I noticed how most people I saw only wore Strength or Attack capes, so I decided to go for Defence as my first combat 99 instead.
This was still my 2nd combat 99 though, and worth it.
The colours of this cape are probably my most favourite. I am currently wearing this with my Slayer outfit because it looks amazing with it.
I love the rich gold mixed with red, and once I start skilling, I'm going to find a really nice outfit to go with this cape.

- November 2008
Level up Screenie

My last melee stat to get to 99. I was actually dreading getting this stat up, because I hate training with a dragon scimitar, and I didn't have enough money to buy a saradomin sword, but it actually wasn't too bad.
I also trained this with Slayer. The skill cape isn't too bad, although I don't normally wear it.
When I got 99 strength, the person who sells the cape died just a few days ago in the new grandmaster quest.
Personally, I have never been a big fan
of high hits, which is why I never got Strength as my first 99 unlike most people.

- December 2008

Level up Screenie

This is probably my biggest accomplishment, and one I am very proud of. It took me a year and probably a bit more to get 99 Slayer, but it was definetly worth it. Not to mention all that money I made from those drops, and it also helped me get three other 99's - Attack, Strength and Defence.
I now wear this cape where ever I go, whatever I do. It's also a nice accomplishment because I had a personal goal to get 99 Slayer before the end of the year, and I managed to get it on the 31st, which I am very pleased about.

Level up Screenie

This is one of those skills which I hate to train, but is also one which is also very useful. I trained most of this with Slayer, ranging tasks, and later on, using a cannon for tasks. Once I got to around 95, I tried out some other methods of training - Blue Dragons, Aviansies, Black Dragons and then I decided to stick with Yaks.
I trained at Yaks with iron knives and full void range along with range potions to 98, when I got bored. I'm not usually used to camping because I have trained most of my combat stats with Slayer. So I used chins on the last level, which didn't take too long.
Like I said before, this skill is very useful, and now I might try Armadyl Godwars sometime.

Posted ImagePosted Image 9. Magic
- February 2009
Level up Screenie

This is a skill I was dreading to train. There are only two ways to train this skill - the fast and costly method, or slow and cheap method. Because I had used all of my money on other skills and armour, I was stuck with the slow method - alching. I have never liked alching, and when i found out I had to alch over 100k yew longbows from 92 Magic, I wanted to give up.
Around the same time I started training Magic, my friend Sam had just recently gotten 99 Magic himself, only he trained by bursting at Rock Lobsters.
That was what kept me going through all those boring moments. I was extremely happy to get this 99, because it was one I had thought I would never get by alching, so I am very proud I did.
Although it doesn't really make a difference, because I only usually use Magic for teleporting, but maybe I will try out my new Magic skills at Castle Wars. ^_^

Posted ImagePosted Image 10. Prayer
- March 2009
Level-up Screenie

I've definetly spent a lot of time thinking about how to go about this skill. It's one of the more expensive ones to train, and in the end I decided to sell all my armour to be able to afford it. Despite the fact that it is an extremly fast skill to train, and I used a Pack Yak which made it even more faster, I really couldn't stand training this skill.
I'm really not used to clicking so much, and I ended up just training this skill for around one hour a day then going off and doing something else.
I managed to get 138 Combat once I got 98 Prayer, and from then on I decided to make myself get the last 1M experience all in one day and get it over and done with.
It didn't take too long, but there was so much clicking! The only annoying thing is that a day after I got this 99, an update was released so that you no longer had to keep clicking while training Prayer - you can imagine how annoyed I was about that! Anyway, I'm so glad I finally managed to complete this goal, and hopefully this skill will be put into a lot of good use, along with the maxed combat I got with it!

Posted ImagePosted Image 11. Fishing
- 9th May 2009

Level-up Screenie

I've always quite liked Fishing. It's a very relaxing skill, because you don't have click as much, and unlike woodcutting, it doesn't matter how many people there are at your spot. I originally needed money to buy the supplies for 99 Summoning. I decided to fish monkfish until I make enough cash, but I wasn't really going for 99 until I realised how many monks I needed, so I decided.. why not get a 99 along the way!
Fishing monks was quite slow, as it was only around 20-30k/hour but I enjoyed it a lot. I also loved the cape (I love capes with gold trims) so I thought it would be a perfect 99 to go for.
Usually I prefer not to have a party or anything, but this time two of my friends wanted to come when I got 99. However, with 540 exp left, I had to log off, so in the end they didn't get to come with me when I got it, as I had to get it later the next day.
I added their congrats messages to the screenie because they've supported throughout the goal.

Posted ImagePosted Image 12. Summoning
- 6th August 2009
Level-up Screenie

Summoning is a very useful skill, but I never really expected to get 99 in it. This was mostly because of how much it cost, and how much time you had to spend collecting the charms.
It was only after I reached 99 Slayer and I saw how many charms I'd gathered, I realised that I could actually get 99 Summoning.
I got all my charms for 95 Summoning from Slayer. After that, it was a mixture of Slayer, Waterfiends and a little bit of Rock Lobsters. Slayer is an amazing way to get the charms, you hardly notice it during tasks, but in the end, it all adds up.
Summoning is a very useful skill. The Pack Yak is probably the familiar I use most, because not only can it be used for Slayer, but also absolutely any skill. I'll probably not use the Steel Titan much, as I don't think I'll be doing much combat since maxing out combat, but I did get a pet Red Dragon to match with my Slayer Cape.

Posted ImagePosted Image 13. Firemaking
- 16th October 2009
Level-up Screenie

This skill was just horrible to train. I have no idea why people believe it's a fast and easy skill. It certainly wasn't fast, and no way was it easy. I burnt maple logs because I had spent all of my money on other skills.
This skill was incredibly dull to train. I stopped playing Runescape because I just hated training this skill. It's just so dull. You have to keep clicking, and you get absolutely no where. I tried to keep my sanity by having short breaks to try and get all the dragon eggs.
Once I'd gotten them all, I decided that the best way to train Firemaking without giving up was to watch TV shows while training. This worked very well, and the experience was pretty good, but without those TV shows, I don't think I'd have ever managed to complete this goal.
Another reason I decided to go for 99 Firemaking was because I was aiming for 2200 Total. Being incredibly impatient as I am, I decided to go for the quickest skill I knew.. Firemaking. Ha! I may as well have gone for 99 Runecrafting.
Anyhow, it's finally over now, and I've heard that the inferno adze is pretty good, so at least it was worth it.. I think.

6th December 2009
Level-up Screenie

This one was a strange 99. I used to love Mining when I was F2P, but once I became member, I hated it. I managed to get it to 80 by powermining granite, then gave up on it, because it requires so much concentration. Then there was the Living Rock Caverns update. I'd heard a lot of people saying how it made Mining so much easier now, and you could make a lot of cash from it. I decided to give it a go, and absolutely loved it. There's hardly any clicking, and it is very profitable if you stick at it. I decided to buy a Dragon Pickaxe since I knew I'd be mining for a long time there. It actually helps quite a lot, so if you're planning to mine a lot, I'd recommend buying it. I also used a pack yak instead of a lava titan there, except for the last level. I got around 45k/hour with yak and 60k/hour with titan. This was a really fun skill to train, and it has actually become one of my favourites now. I watched all 5 seasons of House while training this skill, so it wasn't time wasted either. I also manaaged to mine 167K gold ore as you can see from the level-up screenie.

Posted ImagePosted Image 15. Smithing
- 23rd December 2009
Level-up Screenie

This skill came along with 99 Mining. After mining 167k gold ore, I decided to use the ores to get 99 Smithing. I decided to smelt the ores from 80-88 with gold gauntlets, and that got me around 60-70k exp/hour. From 88-99 I decided to smith adamant plates using sacred clay hammers. Getting the hammers was horrible, as I needed 2,740 SC points, but it was worth it in the end. I made a 85M loss, but I got around 300k exp/hour so it was very fast.
I think it's pretty cool that I can now make my own rune armour - something I've always wanted to do when I was F2P. This skill was pretty fun to train because there was little clicking and fast experience.
I trained at the anvil near Varrock west bank, and I managed to get from 88-99 in a couple of days.

Posted ImagePosted Image 16. Runecrafting
- June 2010

Another strange skill. I originally hated this skill so much. The running in circles bored the heck out of me, so I usually only trained this for one or two levels before getting bored again. Once I reached level 75, I started doing ZMI. I also decided to race a friend to 91, and from then on, training Runecrafting didn't seem like a chore. Once I got to level 82, I began runecrafting double astrals. I think that probably motivated me to train even harder to get to 91, because it was really nice to see 300k astrals sitting in your bank. Once I got to 91 however, everything changed.
I ended up getting hacked around January/February and from then on Im not quite sure what happened. Interestingly, the only skill that seemed to have gone up when I finally managed to get my account back was Runecrafting. However, I am slightly worried about the methods the hacker used to get 99 Runecrafting. As well as that, obviously I have no cash from 91-99 Runecrafting itself, as whoever hacked my account ended up trading it away. So, like I said.. a strange skill.

Level-up Screenie

I guess this skill comes under the category of "Easy and Fast Skills" along with Cooking and Firemaking. Before I trained at Pyramid Plunder, I really didn't like this skill, because I didn't enjoy pickpocketing - I seemed to get caught so many times. I don't remember exactly where I trained during the low levels, but I do remember having a large amount of cakes in my bank, all stolen from the Ardourgne Market. After that, I trained at Pyramid Plunder.
Training there is so much fun. Initially, I trained on the unofficial world 64, but it becamse rather annoying training there, as the doors reset too often. I then started training on my homeworld, world 24. I met a few people there who were much higher than me, and I guess that persuaded me to go for 99. That, and also the fact that I could get 200k exp/hour at 91. This was a very fast skill to train, and unlike Firemaking, I actually enjoyed it.
I'll admit, it did get rather tedious towards the end, and I got no pharoah sceptres along the way, but instead I did get a wonderful purple cape!

Posted ImagePosted Image 18. Farming
- 8th July 2010
Level-up Screenie

This has been a love-hate skill for me. When I had a low level in this skill, I used to hate it. I only got it up for quests, and because I could never afford to plant trees, I used to plant herbs and allotments. So the experience was pretty slow, and I used to always forget cto check my farming patches. Once I hit level 60 though, a good friend of mine, GaiusMarius was very close to 99 Farming. He also did herb runs daily, and I realised then how much cash you could make off them. So I started slowly farming with herbs and trees and fruit trees whenever I could. Once I reached 90, I decided to buy enough magic, palm and calquat seeds for 95. It cost a lot of cash, but I thought it was worth it. I then bought enough seeds for 99, which I decided to turn into saplings so that I wouldn't be tempted to sell them all back again. After that I got hacked, but luckily the saplings were still in my bank as they were untradeable. So I continued farming trees with herb runs in between, and eventually reached 99! I will still be farming herbs as I need them for Herblore, and I still have a few palm saplings left in my bank which I will use up. This is probably one of my easiest 99's, as I didn't spend much time on it - just a few farming runs everyday.

Level-up Screenie

During the low levels, I rarely trained this skill, because Construction is such an expensive skill to train. When I did train it though, I enjoyed it, because of the fast experience. Once I got to level 80, I decided that someday I'd get level 99. I calculated the cost of 99 Construction to be over 100M, but then realised that the cost would only be 55M using sacred clay hammers. So I sold all of my armour and decided to play stealing creation to get the points for the hammers. However, I found stealing creation pretty boring, and after getting half of the points needed, I gave up. I used up the SC hammers I had to get 93 Construction. I realised that I'd need an extra 50M to go from 93 to 99 Construction, so I sold my DFS. I now understand why this cape is so rare - 93 to 99 Construction was horrible. I know it's a fast skill to train, but the clicking is very very annoying. Unfortunately I have no cash left to design my house, but I have a house plan for when I do have the cash. Overall, 99 Construction cost me around 110M, but I admit it's not a very useful skill. Then again, who knows.. maybe there will be an update released in the future.

Level-up Screenie

I mostly trained this skill by spinning flax which I'd recieve from my Kingdom. It was good cash during the low levels, and I enjoyed training it because there wasn't much clicking. Once I reached level 63, I made green d'hide bodies to 80. It cost quite a bit, but the experience was great. I then decided to get this skill to 99 because it was one of the few skills I had left which were buyable. I calculated that it would cost 125M making green d'hide bodies, which made me decide to leave this skill until I was a bit richer. I then noticed on TBOOTH's thread that he had made air battlestaves which got you 230k exp/hour. So I started begging people for battlestaves. A lot of people answered my pleas, and I really can't thank those people enough, who left in huge offers in the GE for battlestaves so I could craft them. It's thanks to them that I got this 99, otherwise I'd still be trying to find that 125M needed to make green d'hide bodies. I also want to thank TBOOTH for the idea, and I'd recommend anyone who can't afford to make green d'hide bodies like myself to try this method out.

Level-up Screenie
This was my last buyable skill and I reckon it's the skill I've spent most on. I really regret not buying 99 Herblore before extremes and overloads were released. I had some real trouble trying to find enough cash to raise this skill. From 81-85 I mostly made saradomin brews as this was before extremes/overloads etc were released, so it didn't actually cost too much. Then I started making extreme attacks, strengths etc as I got the levels. During this time I was also training Construction so money was pretty tight. I managed to farm all my herbs for the extremes which was until around level 95-96, so there wasn't much loss, and the extremes were very useful during Slayer. From 96-99 though, I had some real trouble. I got from 96-98 mostly with effigies which I recieved from Slayer. I am honestly so glad that effigies were released, I would probably never have reached 99 Herblore without them (if only they were released before I'd gotten 99 Slayer thoug, I'd probably be maxed total by now!). I also made a few overloads because I wanted to try them out on slayer tasks, but I only made around 500 because torstols are so ridiculously expensive. From 98-99 I calculated it would cost me 50M by making overloads, around 28M making extreme magics and 25M making recover special pots. 50M was out of the question, and I can't stand making extreme magics because you have to ground all those mud runes, so I decided to make recover specials. I ended up selling all my armour and weapons including my whip and dragon boots (so I basically have nothing but full rune left). Training Herblore itself wasn't too hard - the experience with the untradeable potions is really good, but I have no idea what I'm going to do with my 15k special recover potions. Anyway, I guess in the end all that cash was worth it to get my final buyable skill over and done with. Now I don't have to worry about raising cash for anything.

I left this skill until near the end because I never really enjoyed training it. There's a lot of clicking involved but also because of the overcrowded spots. But when I learnt about catching butterflies barehanded I decided to give it another go (also being persuaded by Mike Wazowski). I caught ruby harvests until level 80, sapphire glaciels until level 85 then a mixture of snowy knights and sapphire glaciels from 85-99. I tried catching black warlocks as well but their not very good experience unless you already have 99 Agility and quite a high Hunter level. The great thing about catching butterflies barehanded is that they give Agility experience as well, so I managed to go from 90-93 Agility while going for 99 Hunter. Their also not as crowded as red chins so I would really recommend giving these a go if you (like me) don't enjoy training Hunter at red chins. I'm quite happy to get this skill over and done with - it took a very short amount of time from 90-99 (a few days) because the exp/hour at butterflies is great (I got around 100k-120k exp/hour while catching sapphire glaciels & snowy knights from 95-99 Hunter). The cape is also very nice, and although it's going to rot in my bank for eternity, I'm happy to get this skill out of the way.

This skill is described as one of the worst by many people to train, including me. Getting this skill upto level 80 was awful. I used to train this skill for half an hour before going off to complete my slayer task because it's so tedious to train. You're basically just running around in circles (abit like Runecrafting) but unlike Runecrafting, you're not making any cash from it. Infact, you're not making anything from it. Yeah, there's the new shortcuts you can use.. but that's it! There's no motivation to train this skill after level 90, especially since the exp/hour is pretty slow. I trained from 90-95 at the Advanced Gnome Course with a friend and then decided to simpily train it with effigies I recieved from Slayer. I managed to get upto level 97 using effigies which saved me alot of time but then I decided I wanted to finish this skill. A friend suggested that I use the penance horn that gives you double exp in Agility so I started playing Barbarian Assault to fill it. I actually rather enjoyed playing BA as long as the teams were good. As with most team games in Runescape, if you have a bad team then everything can get really frustrating. I managed to fill my horn though and oddly enough 97-99 Agility wasn't that bad. I actually enjoyed training it! I trained the last few levels at the Advanced Barbarian Course because of the slightly higher exp/hour. The emote of this cape is the best, I have to admit. I often prefer wearing this cape to my slayer cape (which I wore for years) because I actually have more respect for someone wearing an agility cape than someone wearing a Runecrafting or a Slayer cape. With Slayer and RC the exp/hour may be slow but at least the money is great which gives you motivation to train it. With Agility..? There's nothing! Anyway, I'm glad to have this skill over and done with.

This was my second-last skill, so I was pretty keen to get it over with. I'd deliberately left Woodcutting as one of my last skills because I didn't want a tedious skill like Runecrafting or Agility as my last skill. I was expecting Woodcutting to be rather quick and easy but I actually found it really slow. I'd heard people getting upto 80-100k exp/hour at ivy and I was expecting the same but I seemed to be getting around 60k exp/hour. Eventually I decided to change locations from the ivy at Varrock Castle to Taverly which was a quieter place and I actually found I got alot more exp/hour (but not as much as 80k, I have no idea how people manage to get that much). Other than the "slow" experience this skill wasn't too bad. It gave me a chance to browse these forums as well as the Runescape forums and I had my lovely clan to keep me company.

99 DG Level-up Screenie
120 DG Level-up Screenie
My last skill to get to 99, and one that I've changed my opinion on many times. I never understood this skill when it first came out - I just used my penguin points and exp lamps to train it to level 60 without ever entering a dungeon. Once I raised my other skills though, I realised that I'd have to learn how to train this skill someday, otherwise I'd end up with 24 99's and one level 60 skill. Originally, I thought this skill was alright. It was different from the rest - you weren't stuck in one spot grinding away, and it required a bit of communiction with other players. I enjoyed this skill up until level 90, when I moved from w117 to w148. That was where I had some bad experiences with teams (which is odd, as people often claim that their worst experience was with w117) as alot of the people I met there thought of themselves as superior because of their high dg level. Once I got to level 95, I stopped Dungeoneering because I was fed up of being judged by my dg level. I continued skilling until I achieved 99 Woodcutting and realised that the one skill I had left was Dungeoneering. Thankfully 95-99 didn't take too long and the teams weren't as bad as I thought they would be, although I did have one or two encounters with some rather rude people.
I then quit RS for a couple of months before returning in the start of May 2011. I decided to train DG 'til level 100 just to bind the primal plate - it was something I'd always wanted. Once I started though, I didn't stop. It's odd, but the higher your level is in the skill, the more you seem to enjoy training it. I actually started to find some really great teams on w148 and meet some fantastic people. The atmosphere was very pleasant and I decided to continue training. Of course, you still get one or two people who think their better than everyone else, but overall people are willing to help each other and work as a team to get things done. Once I reached 113 DG and binded a hex and primal 2h, I started DGing with my clan - and that's when I really started to enjoy DG! Being able to DG with friends just makes the skill so much more enjoyable - you can laugh at each others mistakes and complete the floor so much quicker because the team works well together. Having achieved 120 DG, I will continue DGing with friends, not for exp but for fun. This is probably the skill I've had most fun training and will continue to do so.

Ludovico Einaudi - Divenire

I recently discovered this guy while browsing another forum and instantly fell in love with his songs. I'll admit that it's not really the type of song that a lot of people on this forum would be into, but I just find this so relaxing. It's such a beautiful piece, and if you enjoyed listening to this, I'd recommend listening to his other songs as well such as Primavera.

David Garrett - Kashmir

I've been playing the violin for 10 years now, and I love listening to classical music. David Garrett plays classical music but he also plays a variety of other songs ranging from pop to rock. This is his cover of Kashmir originally by Led Zepellin. He's fantastic and I would love to have the opportunity to see him live someday.
He inspired me to start playing the violin so that I could enjoy music and play songs that I loved, rather than simpily playing in order to try and pass some exams and achieve a qualification. I was a little reluctant to put this up as I realise my music taste is very different to the majority of the people on this forum. But I decided to put up his cover of a song I thought many people would enjoy, rather than say a classical piece.

Immediate Music - A Thousand Deaths

If you haven't heard of Immediate Music I can guarantee that you've heard at least one of their songs when watching a trailer for a movie. They mostly make music for trailers and games, and this song is one of my favourites by them. It's an epic piece, one that I'd definetly recommend. It doesn't have a video, but to be honest the music doesn't need one. It speaks for itself really.

Thanks for reading my Goals & Achievements. I hope you enjoyed reading through it. If you have any feedback, please feel free to post it.I will update this once a day, if not at least once every 2-3 days, so be sure to check back for some more updates. Also feel free to message me ingame - my friendlist is very small, so I will certainly add you and I'd love to chat with some of you guys.
Thanks for viewing my thread.

Thanks, good luck with your Slayer as well. <3
I think you should make one, it's useful keeping track of your goals, and even more fun showing off your achievements to other people. ^_^
And the next screenshot I take, I shall make sure your in it.

I'm getting combat up first with Slayer, because it's my favourite skill.
Then I'll plan to buy most of my other skills from the money I get from Monster Hunting. :$

Thanks, and thanks for the advice, I'll save them as .png next time I take a screenshot (..which might be a long time).

Thanks for your support. I'm glad you like the thread. I'm trying to tidy it up at the moment - I think it's too messy.
