Quick thing about the rules-

Quote

Keep your topic titles relevant
Please ensure your topic title is relevant to the content. Random titles, such as "OMG I LUV CATS" for an achievement of 55 Slayer, or blatant lies such as "98 slayer on a level 3!" when it isn't anything of the sort are disallowed. However, relevant jokes in your topic title, such as "Bug Abuse!" for killing of cockroaches is absolutely fine. Whether a title is acceptable or not is down to moderator discretion.

Somewhat comical I think, but now that at least two level threes have 99 Slayer, it's time for a change.

The example still provides enough clarity as to what the rule is against for it not to matter.

If you actually achieve 99 slayer at level 3 combat then by all means make that your title. But if you achieved 75 crafting, and put "99 slayer at level 3 combat" as your title, then you are in the wrong and breaking this rule. It was not a shot at anyone whom obtained, or is attempting to obtain that specific goal, but just used as an example as to what is and isn't allowed.

Ah, I misunderstand. Apolegies, and thanks for the clarification.

This may be off topic im presuming this is Updates for G&A segment of the forums, but I find it highly annoying how I only get 1 Private Mail a day, I am wondering is it because I am under 50 posts? Because that should be raised, I wanted to send Important information to a "King" rank I believe and I couldn't because I have used my 1 PM in the past 24 hours -.-'

on the G&A side of things, Proper Layouts or templates for G&A or Graphics for templates, it's very hard writing your own G&A and i'm struggling ALOT with it so templates Would definately be used by me at least.

The PM limit depends on your post count and rank, you'd be better of posting in Community Discussion if you want more information on that. :-)

We've discussed templates before but always decided not to go that way considering it tends to make threads rather generic. You can always adapt a template from the Guides forum if you are having serious issues making your thread. ^_^

No annoying symbols in topic titles preferably, like @@@ My G&A - RSN @@@ this isn't RSB.

That's already a rule. If you see a topic with it just report it using the button at the bottom of the post and we'll take care of it. :-)

How come his topic was locked when he last made a topic in Single Achievements was nearly a week ago? I understand that this is mentioned in the rules:

Quote

Only post one topic.
Having multiple topics create spam and is against the rules. You can always edit a post to add information for another account or a different goal.

Although people should be allowed to have two seperate topics about things in Single Achievements, especially if they are a week's length apart and are about two totally different things :$

There isn't a strict guideline for that rule, so really it us up to the moderator who deals with it. I generally let it go if it is a week and a half to two weeks old.

Rules are way to strict. It seems like I can't do anything with this forum without getting my thread removed or my signature being removed.. That's mostly why I don't use this forum much. Half the time I don't even know what I did wrong, anyway.

I agree
It's a nice community but to use the forum I think there's to many ( strange and unnecessary ) rules and are taken waaaaaaay to strict.
For instance removing pm that are so called spam, there's way to many non spam that aren't 1 word replies that are just removed without anyone being told or notified.
And also the size of pictures that can be posted, I agree if you say your pictures make people lag when they open the page. But what about someone posting 50 pictures of the standard size against someone who posts 4 pictures resized or full screen? I think 50 pictures take a lot longer to load than 4 bigger pictures.
And to end the whining =P, I think there should be a longer period before closing. If my thread gets closed overnight, I can't update it until late afternoon or later because the mod that closed it isn't responding or isn't there I'd say give the op 24hours to change the thread then close, it sure isn't harming anyone or give the op time till he's next login or so.
It would give the mods a much better reputation in my point of view
You all do a great job, but sometimes to great!

Thanks for reading the little venting

@Aragon - I'll look into ironing out some of the gray areas we have in the rules so our CLs are all on the same page.

@Lieven - The problem with leaving them open for that long is that often times the topic isn't revisited by the topic creator either, so then we have a topic that is breaking the rules remaining open for a length of time too.
If a CL is not responding to a PM, you are free to PM any active CLs or Moderators who are on at that time to get them to open it too.
I'm going to look into more uniformity and open up a freer posting environment in terms of what is and isn't spam as well. We don't want to discourage you guys from posting, but at the same time we want a somewhat constructive post from our users.
As for the picture sizes, chances are that rule won't be changing for the time being. Not to say that it won't ever change, but for now we'd prefer to keep it to where all pictures must be resized, instead of just certain situations. The more complex you make the rule the harder it is to get users to follow it.

You don't want to discourage maybe but often if I post on someone's thread and see it removed I feel like, oh well why bother posting any more. And the pictures, it's not that I don't want to put work in resizing it's just that I play in resized and if I would resize to the right size you can't read the text in the pictures

Thanks for the reply

When posting, just make sure that your posts have more substance than a simple "Nice job!" or "lol grats mate", and that they are relevant to the thread. Those two simple rules should get rid of all of your troubles. As far as the images go, you could always post them resized, and include a link to the full sized image.

I personally think the forum is run fine.
There could be 1 or 2 more Mod's floating around but generally I don't see much problem with the forum as a whole

1 Suggestion (just a random idea that popped into my head): Poster of the Month (part of Aotm).
There is personality but you could have a great personality but not post a lot or even have 'proper' posts. Just a thought. :innocent:

That's not a bad suggestion, but I think it really falls under best personality. Also, we have the member of the month competition to highlight the best posters of the month.
