Up the anti with the pics, and emotes. The person with the thread; who has more pics and emote should ask a mod to look over their thread, giving them more rights to add more pics and emotes.

Thats it, and most is said already. xD

The pictures limit is done through IPB. We can't have select threads with more images than other threads. Its either all the threads or none of the threads get more images/post. And really, your allowed to have a second, sometimes a third post after your first if you ask a Moderator to make it so. Just click "Remove Signature" from the first post and it should transition smoothly to your second post.

I already told Slam that I didn't have any problems with the board when he PMed me. However, I do like the idea of splitting Single Achievements into monster drops and level ups, or whatever you all decide to name it. It would reduce the clutter of the forum, and still retain the value of levels and drops.

I don't see why people are so persistent with the real life picture issue. Personally, I could care less what someone looked like - I want to see their Runescape achievements on this board. I would much rather see their personality shine in their thread and TRULY see who that person is, instead of seeing a face that might just be a mask.

IRC Channels - Meh is all I have to say. I don't use mIRC that much, so it's not that big of a deal for me. I suppose the CL will adjust this rule accordingly; after all, they're the CL for a reason.

Picture/emoticon limit = board setting.

THIS IS ABOUT AOTM, NOT SINGLE ACHIEVEMENTS ETC...

Well, I have been thinking about this for quite a while now and I have come to the conclusion that I'd like to see the AOTM go back to the old way where there was 1 winner per month and I will tell you why. I believe that there is little satisfaction in winning 1 out of 4 awards (even though I have never won). It also becomes harder to vote when you have to take in 4 different categories instead of the obvious 1.
I also think it would encourage people to work harder towards being nominated which means better attitudes, better threads, better goals, better achievements, pretty much better everything. In the end it turns into a better Runescape Community.
Thanks for reading,
Canadian

Maybe create some templates for new achievement thread starters? Or maybe a tutorial on what their thread should look like or revolve around? Achievement threads are really hard and stressful to work on and can sometimes be overdone, a template or tutorial would help with that :D.

To the ones that wants the real life pictures back. Just post it in the off topic sticky and have a direct link to it in your thread. =$

I myself think you are running the Achievements section well, I love going around and looking at topics ;P

But whenever I go in to the Single Achievements sub-forum half or more of the topics are God Wars/Clues. So yeah maybe make a sub-forum for them.

As already mentioned, maybe a monster drop sub-forum? it'll tidy up most of the achievements in single achievements.

Well, there are a couple of things I guess. But its all very rough ideas.

1. The No life of the months name. I know there is no harm in the words, but I always felt that there would be a possibility that some may take offense to that. As some may call people that as an insult, as you may be aware of already. Thought that the name could be altered slightly. Perhaps to something like "Fastest skiller of the month" ... something like that. Just an idea.

2. Also the second part is, maybe we could have some sort of competition every month. Which could be an added as an extra Aotm. Like... People have to apply for something, to participate in an activity during the month. And the person who has done the most exp in that given skill can be claimed as a winner. It could be fun, competative and it can motivate some people into doing certain things that they may not be able to do on their own. And for that given skill, those who are participating in it, we can provide them with an official world. They don't have to skill on it, but its optional for those who may want to skill or meet with other people from rsc achievements. Like for instance, if the skill was Agility. We can say well, if you don't want to be doing agility on your own, you have the option to go to the official world, Ape Atol to train with the other people taking part, or just other people who came to see what was going on and cheer everyone on.

Maybe for every month when someone is a winner, we could also host a little event or something as a celebration. It could be pretty fun if its planned well! :-P

I also think it would be a good idea, because then at least some people can go for something where people can't vote for them, hence it being the only non biased section on there. If they want to be up for it, they are going to have to WORK for it! :D

I like it, but we'd have to talk it out with the events team

that sounds like a great Idea, I too agree on a sub-form of Monster drops & Levels, all you see are those stuff there, so why not make it? And I think of a Little "Race" Fourm, as you see..there are some races occuring this moment...that would be a great idea

Addressing some of the recent ideas:

-AotM signature banner: Its been mentionned before and under serious consideration. We'll get back to you on this one in the coming weeks.

-Splitting up Single Achievements: Whilst I can see where you are coming from with this suggestion, you have to realise that we do not want to harm the activity of a forum, neither do we want to over-crowd one. If the majority of topics are drop-topics, then removing them from single Achievements might remove its actual activity, and thus render it a bit useless. A little more research will have to be put in before we truly consider this idea, to what affect a new forum for drops would have on the forum as a whole.

-Allow IRC Advertising: Its in the works, and has been for some time. Check up on this in the coming weeks.

-More Emotes: I do not believe this is actually possible, nor is it fair to give one forum more emotes when various forums contain long posts (such as, Suggestions or Events). Also, as mentionned earlier in this topic, you should not require a large amount of emotes to decorate your topic with.

-Real Life Pictures: It'll be considered, but proof it is you would definitely have to be provided. We do not want people to go off at tangents and have their topics full of "your hot" or "your cute" comments. This isn't myspace.

-AoTM Voting: I can see your point on giving each person to reach the voting stage a fair chance - however, you must realise that unless it is clear and concise to exactly how much XP they earnt a day, or week, its very hard to decide what description should be given for each differing case. I suggest, when nominating, you should thus say EXACTLY why you are nominating someone, not generalise what you are nominating for.

-More Pictures: Again, its not under our control, like with emotes. And even if it was possible, it'd be unfair. I see no reason why you need more pictures per posts when you have the option to ask an Achievement Moderator to help you get 2+ posts in a row, if in need of more space for more images.

-Text Bug: The bug which makes posts go blank is not Achievement-specific. It can happen to anyone at anytime, we have no control over it, and whilst it has been looked into, it may be a case of waiting for it to be bug-fixed by IPB. Until then, I suggest you take regular saves of your topic to ensure you do not lose any information.

-Thread of the Week: We have "Best Topic" already in AoTM. I do not see any reason we would need another competition to do with Topics. Its a nicely set-out idea, I will grant you that, but its not something I see catching on. If you wish to explain it further, however, please do so.

-Achievement Templates: We discussed this before, but do not want to encourage it too much, because its interesting to see the diversity in topics in layout and design. It also gives depth to "Best Topic" in AotM not to give out pre-made templates. However, it will be considered. A basic tutorial may be more forum-friendly.

-"No Lifer of the Month"'s name: I do not see this as a problem, its all in jest, and I do not believe people would be truly insulted, especially since there is a description as to why you should nominate someone for this award on the AotM topic, which is certainly not degrading.

-Additional AotM section: I didn't want to add any more sections, but you have proposed an interesting idea. The "Most XP this Month in..." competition would probably be a good collaberation between Achievements and Events, and we would have to discuss it with them first. This idea will be considered, and we'll get back to you on that.

-Race Forum: There is certainly not enough races right now to warrant their own forum.

Ooo ... Never noticed this here before ...

How do you feel on how the forum is run? I think its ran great, by a bunch of great people.
Are the rules too strict or too vague? A little of both ... lots of spammers all over so It'd be nice if we could crack down on that ...
What would you change? It's good as it is I think ... not really a lot will get put here ...
What could we bring to the forum? Best Outfit? I don't really know lol ...
^Kind of a joke ... but kind of serious ...
What could we remove? Nothing?

I just answered the question you posted  I hope thats fine ...

Overall - I think this is the best forum on RSC ^_^!!

Yes I will admit there is a lot of spam, but there are only 4 CL's and 2 Moderators who are in charge of this forum mainly. What we need are the people to report posts constantly. These are anonymous, only known by the moderators so you won't be ridiculed by your peers for being a nark or anything like that. With your reports its easier for us to delete the spam because its hard to browse dozens of topic each day alone. So the answer to that, we need your help.

Drops and item achievements could be kept separate from level ups etc. Apart from that it's good atm, can't think what could be changed.

Advertising IRC channels.
IRC Channels are now allowed to be advertised in Achievements, as long as they are somehow RuneScape Related, be that a clan channel, team channel, personal achievement channel or similar. However, Zybez does not accept any responsibility for any mis-happening in any channel you decide to visit. All channels outside of Zybez control are separate entities, and should be approached with caution if they seem suspicious. If you do witness ingame rulebreaking, excessive abuse or anything out of the ordinary in any channel advertised on this forum, please PM an Achievement Moderator with evidence. If any channel you are seen to advertise is found to be involved in anything out of the ordinary, we will ban you from advertising it here.

^ Changed a rule. Several other things are in discussion.

About the real life pic issue, I think it's kind of lame that we can't post picture, I mean people here should be old enough to know that most of the female users are fake, so maybe you could just add a warning to the rules about it or tell them to have some kind of sign in the picture that shows their RuneScape name maybe.

What do real-life pictures have to do with a RuneScape achievement thread? In my view, nothing at all. We already have a sticky in Off Topic which allows users to post such images.

Support List removal. What purpose do these serve? They stretch a topic out with pointless information and are simply un-needed. I think they should be removed. Key points:

1. They stretch out a post for what? Nobody reads them
2. People with support lists get posts from people just so they can be on that support list... For what? To gain e-popularity by being on a list? To try and get closer to the topic creator? They want to be on it for personal gain, not because they actually support.
3. If you really support, you would post without saying "1 SUPPO4T U PL0X!!muleshiftone!!" It would remove many posts that are spamish, and only there for the intent of being on a list that serves no purpose to the community. To see who supports you just click the "Who's posted on this thread" thing and there is your list without it spamming up the thread.
