Zybez Ventrilo Rules- By: YanOmeE
Ventrilo is a very beneficial tool for players to utilize on RuneScape. It is helpful for PK’ing coordination, events planning, game discussion, and socializing in general. However, it requires an understanding of the rules and a certain level of obedience in order to give others the freedom of its use as well. Please read through these guidelines and do your best to follow them, so that everyone can enjoy the benefit of voice communication provided by Zybez.
Please note: Before getting on Ventrilo, you will need a microphone and a set of headphones or a headset. If you do not use headphones of some kind, you will be muted until you get them.
Conduct
1. Avoid cursing for no reason. Since it is voice, this is something that will not be enforced heavily, but think about others before you belt out a string of foul language into your microphone. Blatant cursing will be taken not only as spam, but as an attempt to be offensive, and you will be kicked and eventually banned for repeated offenses.
2. Explicit topics of sex, racism and discussion of things that are very obviously inappropriate will usually result in a kick. Repeated offenses will result in a ban. (The "n word" is a racist word, and will not be tolerated).
3. Abuse of other members of Ventrilo will not be tolerated, and will result in a kick and a ban if it isn’t stopped. It’s not hard to tell the difference between joking around and intending to hurt others’ feelings.
4. Provoking others is just as bad as mistreating others. Don’t expect a kick, but don’t try to get an admin to help you if you’ve been putting snide remarks in your comments or trying to aggravate the other members.
5. Do NOT harass or argue with an admin's decision. It is one thing to ask why you were kicked, why you were banned, etc. It is entirely another to flame or attack an admin for their actions. Doing this will result in a kick, and a ban if continued.
6. Do NOT advertise ANY other ventrilos on our server. No info in chat, comments, or anything of the sort will be permitted.
Spamming
1. Do NOT log in and out of Ventrilo rapidly. You will be INSTANTLY banned for this.
2. Don’t use long lines of phonetic login messages when logging in. You will be warned, and if you do not fix it, you will be banned (ex. #$%^^$#%$##%^#@). Bracket spammers will be banned instantly.
3. Don’t use long chat encryptions (#$%$%#%^&*(((^^*^^*&%$%^$$%) since some people have TTS enabled. Just don’t do it, you will be warned and possibly banned. If you plan on posting a link in chat, post a warning so others can disable TTS before you post. This is a courtesy, and is expected.
4. If you plan on changing channels a lot, for some strange reason, tell an admin. Otherwise, it’s viewed maliciously, and you’ll be warned then banned.
5. Open microphones are not allowed in the Zybez Ventrilo; read the guides provided on this forum to find out how to set up a push-to-talk hotkey. You will be warned and taken into another channel to work with an admin until it is fixed. If you use an open microphone as a means of annoying others, you will be banned.
6. Screaming into Ventrilo is probably the quickest way to get kicked, and continuing this offense will lead to a ban. Do not scream into vent, period.
7. Soundboarding is strictly forbidden. You will be warned and banned.
8. Voice modification will result in the equivalent punishment for soundboarding.
9. Do not post comment links that are inappropriate. You should have a fair idea of what is allowed and what isn’t. If it is offensive in any way, avoid placing the link in your comment. An offensive link will lead to a kick to remove it and a ban if it is replaced.
10. Playing music outside of the Music 1, Music 2, or Music 3 channel will result in a kick, and repeated offenses will lead to a ban.
11. No links in chat or comments unless they have been approved by a moderator first. The only links that are allowed without getting approval first are links to Zybez and Youtube.
12. No Runescape Private server advertising is allowed. Although we discourage the use of Runescape Private Servers, we can't restrict what you discuss. Just don't put up that info in your comment or in chat.
Personal
As a general rule, do not give out your MSN or AIM in chat as you can set yourself up to get spammed. This is not a rule, but it is advised to be aware of this.
1. Although it isn’t a rule, it is strongly recommended that members avoid posting personal pictures or links to personal profiles on Ventrilo. If you do, be aware of the consequences. This ties in with provoking others to mistreat you. It is advised that if you trust someone enough to provide this information, use a private communication service such as MSN or AOL instant messenger.
2. Do not, under any circumstances give out information such as address, phone number, or anything that could be used to inflict harm outside of the Ventrilo server. If you do this, you are doing so at your own risk. It is advised that if you trust someone enough to provide this information, use a private communication service such as MSN or AOL instant messenger.
3. Moderators reserve the rights to insta-ban people if they see suitable, not all offenses deserve a warning, some are bad enough for an instant ban. If you've been banned without a warning though you can still appeal your ban though if your case is a reasonable case. Not being warned before being banned is no longer a good or reasonable excuse.
