Since about July of 2009, I haven't played RuneScape at all. I quit for a time and now I'm coming back. So I logged on today and noticed a lot of different things. So can anyone list the major changes RuneScape has had since July? (It would take too long to read every news update since then.) So if anyone could do that, that would be awesome! :)

Also, is there a way I can change my detail settings back to the way they were in July? (Not as high in detail.)

Not too many "major" updates, but JaGex has most recently released Within the Light quest. The Ardougne Achievement Diary has also recently been released, as well as the Halloween event. You can woodcut Ivy now in various areas, use the sawmill in different ways, store pets in your house using a Menagerie. In the Living Rock Caverns, you can fish new things, and mine other things more quickly. Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf has also been released, opening up an area in northern Keldagrim for mining (also, a lot more quests have been released). Most importantly, they released on the 1st of October the ability to change names (display names). If you weren't here for it, they also released Mobilising Armies.

I supposed you mean the upgrade to Runetek 5? Even with lowest settings on Standard detail, there's not much you can do about that.

Name change is pretty big. About a month in already.
