Zybez Steel War

Information
Event: Steel War. This, if you didn't guess by the name, is a gathering of Zybez's best to don their steel armour and take to Clan Wars to begin a periodic massacre of each other. It's great, clean-ish, fun. Two Teams enter; One team remains.
Date: Saturday, January 31st.
Time: 3:00 PM EST
World: 43 (F2P)
Meeting place: Varrock town square
Host: Devin (Woodman1014) and Setanta (Suil Eile)
Clan Chat: Zybez Events, followed by either mine or Setanta's CC.

Level Requirements: 5 Attack to wield Steel Weapons, and/or 5 Defence to wear Steel armour.
Items Needed: Any combination of Steel armour or weapons. Any boots, gloves, amulets, or other items are acceptable.

Plan of Action: Around ten minutes before the event begins, we'll meet at Varrock town square and march to Clan Wars. If you get there a bit late, don't fear, you can just scurry up to Clan Wars behind us. We (Setanta and I) will each take a team in our CC, and then enter the safe Clan Wars portal.

What to wear: To maximine your potential, wear the armour shown below. (Man in full steel) These pieces can be bought or made easily, but you may want to purchase one early, just in case.

While you don't have to wear what is shown below (you can wear medium helmets, square shields, etc.), the equipment below would be the best.

Weapons MUST be made of steel. If you are Ranging, you can use any bow, but you MUST you steel arrows. There will be NO Magic use.

Amulets, rings, boots, and capes of any kind of acceptable.

This is a safe event. No items will be lost upon death.

"What am I doing at the moment?..."

So, what am I currently up to? Well, here is a list of goals I am currently working on over the next 12 months (one year). I will definatly update everyday because i am always on :)

Me and steve and andy are all racing to 99 defence, we all intend in doing it through slayer and hopefully will get it in one big party in early january 2010! i cant wait! i slay with whip and use fighter torso with dragon legs.

what a great update i have for you! hehe, yes i have been doing quite a bit recently. firstly i sold all my slayer loot from 85-86 (nearly 87) but i cant be bothered to finish off the last 10k exp lol. Anyway i went to tormented demons with takla and slayboy, didn't start off well because they kept piling us. but on the fourth kill we get a 1.4m split of the lump! i was very happy with it as it as something to put onto my thread :). i want to start going to td's alot more now that i have some cash and expierence at it. after a short trip with takla to td's i headed to abyssal demons to hopefully get a drop..i did and it was a whip! so number three altogether, but more importantly it's my first one to add to this thread! I also did a few clues which ive added none really worth much but meh i like to do them for fun :). im upto 9.2m pure cash now so im doing pretty well atm for what i was a few days ago.

The Success Stories!

99 Range:

My first 99! i had planned to get 99 range right from level 3 and ever since gaining access to aviansies i had so much fun training this! i made lots of friends and gained so much out of this. i aviansied 60-90, then i slayed 90-94, then amazingly i did 94-99 in 2 days with chins at ape atoll :). i would like to thank Anselhelm, although she ahs quit rs ;(. i would like to thanks killalot302 for supporting me the whole way. and i would like to thank Ash cool 1 who also quit, for racing and supporting me! Also Black trim K because he tried his best to grats me but couldnt get to the island as he had 1 prayer (lul)

Well to sum up from when I last posted...

The Mining goal is completed. After all the bars and ores and soft clays were sold off, I had a cool 187 million gold coins sitting in the bank; 135 million of that being from selling the items off. I spent about ten million gold coins on herb seeds and secondaries and except for maybe another 30 lantadyme and dwarf weed seeds, Herblore is officially paid off for 99.

Herblore is now 96 as of today and I already mixed about 300 Overloads and decanted them into four dose potions. I mentioned about worrying about getting the grenwall spikes? Well, all 8,500 grenwall spikes were collected in a relatively brief period of time and I sold off a LOT of them before they plummeted in price. I still have about 50 more pawya meats in the bank which I'll use up before the end of the year and I made at least ten million gold profit from all the excess grenwall spikes I sold away. I'm still collecting papayas twice a day because I may want to train Hunter this way until at least 90. But if I don't, I'll have a lotta papayas to sell off.

Mining is now up to 95 thanks to the concentrated gold ores on world 84. I have to admit, it's some pretty quickish Mining experience with items I can at least sell away for quick cash. I just need to save up about 5,000 gold ores so I can get them smelted into bars for I can make and enchant and sell off some jewelry. I have also taken the time to cook down all my seaweed and crafted them all into molten glass. I still have 1,200 glasses to blow into orbs but I'll get that all completed by the end of the year.

As before, everything is looking good.

E: Oh yeah, I got the 99 Fishing too. Emoted once and stashed it on the cape rack.

I came across something odd today, a player with a miniature crown by her head, we became friends. I also got to level 30 Woodcutting, it's getting harder to level up.

Starting today with 30 Woodcutting, I decided to no-life it. I got to level 50 Woodcutting before logging it for the day.

I currently have 58 Woodcutting, and I am hoping to get to level 60 tonight. If I fail, then no big. I will get it tomorrow, which is Christmas Eve. I am thinking of created a group, or clan, to make more friends and get a little organization going on. That's it for now, I will log tomorrow about what has happened.

I just got level 60 attack. I am now using a Dragon Longsword.
Highest hit was 16 with it, using the special attack. I sold my DDS, it was junk in strength in my opinion.

Hello everyone,

I have some goals. I want 60 attack - only 3 more levels for that. I also want 55 Defence and 55 Strength. 9 more levels for 55 Defence and 8 more levels for 55 Strength. For now I'm working on my Attack, only a few (380+) more Rock Crabs to kill for that, I practically live at the Rock Crab area near Rellekka . I used to own a Dragon Spear (P++). I sold it. Made a profit of 500 coins or so on it too! I bought a Dragon Dagger from the Zanaris Marketplace (bad deal I know, the diamond payment is torture enough), and I'm planning to poison it (P++) and use it. Then I want to purchase a Dragon Longsword as a KO weapon... not for pking.

So it's been a while since i had a rant, and today my dry run was ended!
Today i'm ranting about someone in a clan i temp-fight for (I'm not in the clan but get invited as a guest to PK trips and wars, and this clan is Execution). In the clan is a ape of a 'boy' called Dragrider82 who was unfortunately born without a brain which so many of us value so dearly.

So i felt like going soul wars because i saw on youtube how good the new prayer 'wrath' is and i don't mind getting a few soul war points so i can eventually get an abyssal demon pet, so on IRC i ask in several channels 'Does anyone know a soul wars CC' to which i get almost no answer, except in Execution's CC from dragrider89 who asks me 'aren't u maxed?' as if the only reason some one would go to Soul wars is to train combat or slayer, for no one would possibly play soul wars for....FUN?!
Dragrider82 fails to understand i might play Runescape to have fun, and then compares it to PC, and i'm thinking, hey there, you might be a pathetic loser who thinks of PC and SW as ways of training combat because you are PC/SW product, but to me its just a mini-game, and i'm also wondering why he even plays RS if it isn't obvious to him that what anyone does on Runescape is to have fun, as if people played RS because they had too, it was just an incredibly stupid question to ask.
Now i'm guessing he realised what an idiot he was, so he steers the convo into asking me why i need a CC then, just digging a bigger hole for himself. I'm like, 'because i want to win?' and 'because winning is fun? Who plays to lose?!'. So now he's struggling with the concept of wanting to win as part of having fun, so i'm thinking to myself, what a loser, clearly hes never had any ambition to win anything in his life. And now the convo takes a downwards turn as he tells me 'ur acting like chessy', so i ask him 'how so?' and he says 'she has all the money a person would need, yet what does she do, make more money' so i'm like, what has money got to do with soul wars? and then thinking maybe he's thinking of me as an exp whore or something, i ask, 'i just said i'm playing for fun? so how is this about exp?!' and at the same time, i'm thinking to myself, if it was about exp, wouldn't i find a better way to train than soul wars lol? isnt armoured zombies 100k an HOUR?!
This guy is just a complete moron, comparing me to Chessy, i understand why he might not like how chessy plays but how the hell did he manage to compare me to her because i want to play Soul Wars o.O
I call him pathetic, which i think is completely fair summary of him, creating this odd flaming discussion out of nothing, and then he says 'look at your stats before you say that' so i'm like, i've been playing for years! i didn't no-life my stats, they are a product of years of playing and then, hilariously, he says hes played for 5 years and has a third of the exp i have, and i'm thinking, i see this loser on 24/7 as if he doesn't have a job or go to school and yet he hass played 5 years with a third of the exp, what the hell is he doing exactly? He then asks me why i haven't been pk'ing lately, as if i have to go (remember, im not in the clan, i go when i bloody well want too), to which i say, i haven't had the time to stay up late to go pk'ing, at which point he tracks me as if trying to prove that statement wrong (of course, being the idiot he is, he ignores the word late, which does not imply i'm inactive but could mean i am active in the day and not the night (though actually, i'm completly inactive because i have a temp-job and only play 30 mins to an hour on weekdays). So he tracks me and asks why im slaying over lvl 99, so im like, i slay because its fun?! I didn't slay to 99, it was not a 'job' for me to get 99 and then dump the skill as if it didn't exist, i trained to 99 and past it because its a fun and profitable skill to train, one of the many reason i dont have to wear welfare gear like him. At this point, seemingly admitting hes a welfarer which he is, he says 'your gear doesn't matter' and then asks if i'm a good hyrbrid, to which i reply, 'i am a crap pker but i still get kills' to which for some reason he says 'done' and when i ask him what he means he says 'ur going nowere' which is his closing line before the fight is broken up.

What does that mean? i'm going no where? as if this whole convo was about pking. what an epic troll, turning a one line question of me wanting to find a CC for soul wars into a fight about why his way of playing Runescape is 'right' and my way of playing is inconceivable.
He was basically saying, his way of playing Runescape which involved killing NPC's to make cash and then spending it on Pk'ing which he found fun, was the correct way to play Runescape, and because he couldn't understand how a game like soul wars, when it offered me no useful combat experience, was meant to be fun, was therefore the wrong way to play Runescape. I sort of think of it like discrimination, making him scum of the world, because i don't play like he does, what i find fun is WRONG, we can't be different, apparently we all have to play in the same way.

What a complete and utter moron.
